TRT segment on May 18-19

“I'm hiking the Tahoe Meadows to Spooner Summit segment of the TRT on May 18-19. I plan to start at the Tahoe Meadows trailhead on Highway 431 on Saturday the 18th, spend the night at Marlette Peak C.G., and then go to the Spooner Summit trailhead on Hwy 50 Sunday the 19th. It is about 23 miles total.
It anyone wants to come along we can work out start times and such as things develop.”

“Also, camping is available at the Mt. Rose C.G. for Friday night.”

“Woops, I just called the Ranger District and found out there is no camping at the Mt Rose C.G. until June.
As an alternative, if Friday night travel worked best for anyone, I live very close to the trail head and have an extra bed and a couch.”

“Hey, what the heck? Nobody want to come and play in the snow and mud? I'll keep an eye on things up there and update the conditions as May progresses. With any luck (for fair weather dudes) the trail will start drying up in the middle of April.”
