It Is Now Technically Spring
We had a rain, rain-snow mix then snow storm move through the area this afternoon leaving a few inches of snow everywhere...It's beautiful outside. You'd never know it's Spring.

We had that yesterday, but today was in the fifties, and the leaves on the maple trees are starting to open up.

Hey Skully, I just saw the forecast for my town and we are supposed to have a low of 14 also. The temps keep swinging wildly; I can't lose this cough. I need spring for 24/7.

It sounds like it! G00SE has been torturing me with weather reports from Gawga. Sunny, warm, highs in the 80s...blah, blah, blah. I'm going down for a week and I figure this rain and cold air will probably follow me. I truly do hate March.

I'll be on the slopes too! Trucks been packed since Monday!

Last Sunday it was snowing south of Olancha, which is 130 miles south of Mammoth. I've never been in those conditions that far south.

Mammoth is expecting snow again this weekend.

First day of spring, and Washington got snow. Crashes were everywhere. No one knows how to drive in this state when it's inclimate weather.

Woohoo Barb, enjoy your hike! I'm sure I wouldn't mind the weather so much if I could be out backpacking. Interesting contradiction, that.

Six inches of snow on Monday, another twelve on the first day of Spring. We now have more snow on the ground than we did in January. Temp has dropped to 10 and the winds have picked up. As Mark Twain said of New England, "If you don't like the weather, wait a minute."

I may actually get to use my snowshoes this weekend.

We get no winter, then Wednesday we get cold air and a foot of snow. Thursday we get temps in the 50's, most of the snow melts. Today it "feels like" zero and it's raw outside.
I gave up on winter, I just want to ride my bike!

It was 5 below on Wednesday, today upper 40's and tomorrow in the upper 50's. Time to go golfing.

The East Entrance to Yellowstone was closed last Sunday night so they could begin plowing to open roads. They since have received 5 FEET of new snow.

Snoqualmie Pass (only 3000') has 139" of snow at the base of the ski area. Most watersheds report 116% to 145% of average snowfall. High mountain hiking trips are gonna have to wait until August and September for us in the PNW.
