Your toes shouldn't touch with hiking socks and your heel shouldn't slip. Try this on the incline board and really try to make it happen. If you can't, then they fit. Rule of thumb is a finger and a half width between the back of your heel the the back of the boot with it loose laced and your foot all the way foreward.
