“I had an interseting conversation with my German TA today on the subject of genetically altered food and the European's love of organic food. He made a very interesting point that Europe has very lose regulations on food and drugs and this is the cause of most concern. They don't think of the US's strict guidelines and only of their own system. How do you think the US has yet to fall to Mad Cow disease? The same is true for other bio-tech products. Many Europeans fear these things because they put the standars they are used to on these products and fail to realize that the FDA has tested and retested to strict standards.”
