Human Projectile: Spring 2002

It all started last year, spring time; also known as Spring Track season. I have already spoken of my adventures of the 400 Intermediate Hurdles (there is no other race then the IH, I don’t quite understand why they are called intermediate), it is safe to say after falling twice and the first time picking up ther hurdle after I fell, then running slow so I didn’t fall, I got fired from that event. Leaving me with my so so 800 race and my blah’ mile time to compete in.

Well a few weeks ago Spring Track started up. I dodge the first week because of eagle project work and what not, so when I show up a week late my coaches tell me that if I really want to help the team I will become a pole-vaulter. I kind of laugh, but then I realized that it would get me out of doing a 3rd race on meet day. So I tried it out, it turns out I’m not all that bad, and as for my 800 well that got worse and mile time is the same, however my 400 is faster, but not under 60 seconds. Well I hope I do well at the pole-vault, but I really want to get bellow 2 minutes on my 800 time.

-------
400 = ¼ mile
800 = ½ mile
1600 = mile
Pole-vault = crazy mother fooker with a 14 foot pole.

I am having fun in track now that I am not running the 400IH, that race sucked monkey nut. It was allways the first race, so you had no time to warm up, and in my opion it was the most tiering so once you you funnished it you would be so tierd you couldn't compete with your full potenchial at other races.

My main goal is to go sub 2 minutes in my 800. Harvards record for male 800 is 1:47, there current 800 male does it in 1:53. So I am trying to go 1:50 something, my last season best was 2:14, so that means I have to say good by to 15 seconds. It is going to be a #&%!$. Harvard's polevolting record is 17 somethings, I'm just about clearing 7 feet, so I think I have a beter chance with running.

My son has a meet tomorrow and is stressed because he is running both the mile and the two-mile...

The two mile sucks balls, too. I ran that race once, and it was evil. No one cares about the 2 mile, every one is warming up for the 4x4, or the 2 mile takes to long so they don't give a dam, thus you get no chearing on. I wish him luck. As for the mile, it is not too bad.
