Is this just number of papers that endorsed the GOP or is the number of subscribers incorporated into this statement. I could see your statemtent being correct if they count my hometown paper - The Grundy Register (distributed to about 8 people) - as endorsing the GOP and the NY Times endorsing democrats, thus claiming 1 paper endorsed republicans and one endorsed democrats.
