Ewker - Two relationships are still going on. Trista Rehn was the first bachelorette after getting dumped on The Bachelor herself by Charlie. She married Ryan Sutter and they are still together.

Byron Velvick picked Mary Delgado on Bachelor 6. Mary was a final reject by a previous bachelor (Bob). Byron and Mary are still together and plan to get married. He moved to Florida and they bought a house together. She travels with him on the professional bass fishing circuit and seems to be into it.

Note that Bachelor 6 had an older, more mature bachelor and the women were older also. Byron was 40 and the women were mostly in their 30s.

I was particularly interested in that bachelor show because I used to work with Byron Velvick's father at General Motors.

Phil - found out my friend knows him very well. Said he's a nice guy who likes the "spotlight". Said he's a great fisherman, but like my friend, is busy with the marketing side more than the fishing side (80/20), so doesn't hit the top 25% usually. If he could devote more time, would be awesome. No "dirt" though ... my friends not like that.

Travis & Sarah say it's Over

'Bachelor' duo blame enforced separation

By BRAD SCHMITT
Staff Writer

It's official: Nashville's most famous bachelor remains a bachelor.

In a joint phone interview with The Tennessean yesterday, Dr. Travis Stork and Sarah Stone, united romantically in the Feb. 27 finale of ABC's The Bachelor, said they were no longer a couple. It was the first time Travis, a Vanderbilt ER physician, and Sarah, a Nashville elementary school teacher, have spoken publicly since the show ended.

Travis says the same show that united them may have inadvertently split them. He cited rules that prohibited them from dating or being together in public between the end of the taping in November and the airing of last month's finale.

"You're in Paris and you're part of this incredible experience, this fantasy world, and then suddenly you come back to Nashville, and living in the same city I think we thought was going to be a great thing," he said. "But instead, you're forced to pretend you don't know someone, for essentially the last four months.

"The reality is that we were in this fantasy world. And now that we're back in Nashville, over time when you're not allowed to see someone, you grow apart."

Sarah said if she and Travis had never done the show, and dated with no TV cameras around, "I definitely think it would've worked out differently."

"We wouldn't have had all the baggage that comes from being on this show. It would just be the two of us being able to hang out and get to know each other in a normal situation."

Travis said he and Sarah went to great lengths to stay apart, but that didn't stop rumors that the two worked out together or had dinner together. "Obviously, if we were to do anything of that nature, we'd be in huge breach of contract," he said.

"I remember one day Sarah was running down the street, and I walked out my front door on my bike and I instantly saw this person darting across the street, through traffic. I'm like, 'That's Sarah. Do I look, do I not? What do I do?' Of course, what do I do? I bike in the opposite direction. It's strange to have to live that way."

Travis said he and Sarah did get together in Nashville shortly after they returned from Paris, but neither of them gave any details of that rendezvous.

"I think the difficulty is, it's one of those things that, over time, as you see all this playing out, and you continue to talk it through, and you start to realize how much not only your life has changed, but how much your relationship has changed from where it was back when you were in Paris and everything was great and we were having so much fun together."

For her part, Sarah said little about the demise of the romance, but she looked back fondly on the memories and looked forward to having a good friend in Travis.

"Through this time, we realized that it was a great experience in Paris and that we're so lucky to have met one another in Paris, and we'll never forget that. And we both agree and know that we'll be friends forever."

Sarah said she and Travis had dinner Sunday night and spent some time together yesterday.

The two gave the joint interview after thousands in Nashville and hundreds of thousands nationwide speculated on the Internet and around water coolers about whether they remained romantically connected after taping the show in Paris.

The Tennessean reported last week that Sarah had a new man, Nashville businessman Matt Lauderdale, roommate and longtime friend of Tennessee Titans wide receiver Drew Bennett. But Lauderdale said the two were only friends.

Yesterday, Sarah and Travis both said they were single and unattached. They also said they had no regrets about doing the show and that they were happy to have met a good friend in each other.

Asked if they might reconnect romantically six months from now after publicity has died down, both just laughed.

Splitsville
In the newspaper and on TV today, Travis and Sarah have split up. The newspaper reported that Travis said the 3 month forced separation didn't help. He implied that dating in a "fantasy world" was another issue.

Of 8 bachelor and 3 bachelorette shows, only one marriage (Trista and Ryan) and one other continued engagement (Byron and Mary).

The concept is flawed...but when is the next show? I need to continue my statistical research.

As long as the show still has the ratings (and stupid people to go on it) it'll continue.

Hey! Yes I did. I thought it was interesting. Will see what happens. I am skeptical that even with a 1000 bachelorettes the show can produce a lasting relationship very often. The circumstances are just too unrealistic. Fun to watch anyway.

I missed the rose ceremony and the bachelor bashing by the girls who had to leave.

Not too much bachelor bashing...just some tears from the Italian-speaking girl. The one who got drunk seemed to understand her mistake. I think this will be an interesting season. Why he kept the socialite I have no idea. I bet the producers got in his ear about that one to create some excitement.

Well, Lorenzo seems to like the wild and crazy chicks. My wife and are convinced that Erica is really an actor they put on the show to behave like a spoiled princess. That is the only way we can figure she got a rose tonight. Lots of blonde drunk girls in denial also.

Haven't seen anything profound out of Lorenzo yet. I assume there is something in his brain since he runs some significant business operations.

So far probably one of the least compelling seasons for the bachelor, IMHO.

Yeah, it doesnt seem like there are any real quality women on this show. And lorenzo aint doing it for me either.

So far, the virgin chick (cant remember her name?) seems to be the most sane, but I'm sure she will go as soon as he finds out about her moral convictions.

Least compelling season of the Bachelor so far.

Yeah, she was crying, but no tears were coming down her face.....shall i say, Actress???

I do like the fact that he kept the virgin around though...usually they are gone right away once they reveal themselves.

Actress is a definite possibility.

Yes, this is the first known virgin to get a rose that I can remember. We will see what happens!

Not a very compelling season so far, IMHO. I wonder if Lorenzo let some of the better girls go by mistake. Of course, we only get the edited version of everything.

I think Lorenzo really thought the Italian girl was hot!! Too bad. Maybe he can visit her sometime later on. I bet he wishes he had learned Italian!

I am surprised Lisa is still in the hunt. Interesting that the espoused virgin is still in the hunt. I think Sadie has a lot to offer, from what has been shown so far.

Well, I am going to keep watching anyway.

Well, Lorenzo is down to two cute blondes he is willing to take home to his parents. Thank God Lisa is gone. Lackluster season of the show, IMHO.

I am not sure which one he will pick, but Jennifer's dad has a shotgun ready if Lorenzo gets out of line!

Lorenzo seemed to shy away from the wild ones who ran around topless and such. These two seem to be the most conservative, family oriented ones...plus being hot and sexy.

Then again, we only see the edited version of everything.

Well, here we go again! Dr. Lt. Baldwin seems like quite the catch! I understand it was not his idea to be the bachelor. He was asked several times before he finally consented. Let's hope he is not an egotist like most of the bachelors turned out to be.

I wonder where they got some of those bachelorettes.

I still say this whole approach is cruel and probably immoral. But I am going to watch again anyway!

The bachelor was beginning to be a real drag last night with all the backstabbing and gossiping...

But then Andrew dumped the gossipers!!!! Cool!

He actually seems to be seriously looking...I hope he doesn't turn out to be an egomaniac like most of the others.
Phil

Down to three bachelorettes. I was surprised he dumped Amber. Not sure what he sees in Tessa. Bevin seemed a bit phoney to me.

So, what does Andrew do...he keeps Bevin and Tessa as the last two.

Hope one of them wants to be a Navy wife.

so which one did he pick?

I haven't been watching it, but tuned in for about an hour last night, then had to switch to "The Riches" at 10pm.

so it was Tessa - I was betting on Bevin because she seemed like the boing boing one...LOL...
twigeater

Tessa!
He picked Tessa, who was not that competitive at the beginning. It looks like they are very mature and serious compared to previous seasons. If they get married it will be the second long term couple out of about 10. Bevin had a good attitude a the reveal show tonight.

Again, the way the losers get broken hearted shows how basically immoral the show's concept is...I need to keep watching to verify this.
Phil

5/23/07

Yes! you need to keep watching so you can determine how it is that each and every woman falls "in love" with the Bachelor so she can be broken hearted.

and then tell me so I don't have to watch, LOL...

Twig - Well, the girls who want to be bachelorettes already know who the bachelor is before they apply...but I will keep you posted on how this flawed process is supposed to work. Success rate in bachelors marrying the girl they choose is 0 so far. Number of girls who are rejected by each bachelor is at least 24.

Research will continue!
Phil

What was that???
This has to be my least favorite season of The Bachelor yet. Brad was not that compelling of a bachelor, but they made him seem like he was in a major quandary over the last two girls.

What a letdown when he dumped them both!!!! I thought he could have at least picked one to date a while longer!!

The producers and editors really had to stretch to make the show seem plausible. I wondered why they concentrated so much on the cat-fighting and antics among the girls...now it makes sense.

This was really cruel to the girls involved...like I have said before, this is the cruelest of the reality shows....but I watch anyway to gather data.

i don't watch reality shows, but tonight i saw a bit of the biggest loser, it was cool to see people struggling to better themselves. and their family/friends were so happy to see them looking so good. then when i flipped back to it at the end, they had to throw someone off. well, you just lost me again. i hate reality shows. reality shows are just a way to make the most money since they don't have to pay any actors or writers. hollywood SUCKS.

Pamela - Interesting point about no writers or actors...just need some deranged assistant producers who can remain anonymous!

Dancing with the Stars, and So You Think You Can Dance are my favorite reality shows. I started watching American Idol the last time around.
