She was 42 and he was 36. They couldn't stand each other and were so miserable they couldn't get themselves to go through a divorce so they were just resigned to gutting it out!”

“WD - According to the ABC website, Alex has had five serious relationships prior to "The Bachelor". I think he was genuinely looking for someone he could make a permanent commitment to. I got the impression that he really wanted an "adventurous" type partner. He said any girl that would apply to be a bachelorette was demonstrating that right away.

Alex didn't seem to have too much trouble charming the girls (except Shannon). 7 of the 25 made out with him according to one of the shows. Only Amanda got the whipped cream and chocolate treatment.”

“I must admit that I was very surprised at Alex's choice. I thought that from the beginning he would pick Trista. I think that if she would have not been so #&%!$y and cold that she would have won. However, I think that the best person won. I liked Amanda. She came off as being open and honest, self-assured, and genuinly a nice girl. I hope that it works out for them.”

“lithe1 - I think you are right. I think that Trista and Shannon turned him on at "first sight" (as did Amanda), but they turned out to be cold and guarded. Amanda seemed much more open and warm (and I don't mean that sexually here). Amanda also seemed more confident. I think Trista and Shannon had too much baggage.”

Just one more reason to stay the heck away from TV. Real TV consists of PBS programs, TLC, History Channel and the like.

Folks, real life is much more entertaining than TV. If you don't believe me, ask your local ambulance service if you can go on a "ride-out" with a crew sometime.

You might have to sign a liability waiver, but for the stuff you see happen to real people everyday, it's sure better than Garbage TV.

You all have just validated my reasons for not watching TV..I only read the last few threads and it was enough (gag!)

“Newgirl - We have an antique story that just happened at our house. Last year my father gave my daughter a ring his brother had given him 50 years ago. His brother had picked it up in India. My father thought it was costume jewelry. Anyway, we got it cleaned and appraised by a jeweler. Turned out to be a rare cut ruby in a setting made from two kinds of gold. Value: $3500. Needless to say the whole family was stoked...including my father.”

Speaking of jewelry to you young parents out there so you won't have the same thing happen to you that happened to us. A babysitter stole almost all my wifes good jewelry from us including gold, diamond, and emerald rings. We didn't notice it until a long time after it had happened. We thought we were using only trustworthy babysitters...but were wrong.”

I'm really into it myself, but that is partly because Brooke is from the same county I am from and she is going to the University of Alabama. I rarely get into TV series, but I am very into this show. I can't wait until next week and I hope Brooke makes it one more week! Oh I've also heard some inside information from a local radio station but I guess we'll have to wait 2 more weeks to see if its true!”

“I was into the first bachelor and said I wouldn't watch it again. However I did catch the last two shows. It confirms my conclusion from the first bachelor--that stringing multiple women along like that is immoral and cruel.”
