what i don't get about The Bachelor is, what are the chances that a whole slew of women are going to be madly in love with the same dude at the same time? don't any of them not like him? i understand that they do personality tests and things like that in order to make it more likely that they'll get along. but still! that would never happen in Real Life.”

1940's House is about this family in England who has to live as if it were during the war in the 1940s. food rationing, blackouts...it's pretty shocking. have you seen 1800s House? (i think that's what it was called...) very similar...on PBS.”

“That was Frontier House. I'd like to see "College House from the '70s" where 4 guys live in a dinky, run-down 2-bedroom house and eat macaroni and cheese and drink really cheap beer!”

Was that the one where the people lived in Montana. I know that one of the families who did the Montana show were from the Nashville area. They got divorced as soon as they got back to Tenn. Me thinks there were problems before hand and that was their last resort of staying together.”

what i'm thinking of was actually 1900s House, where the family lived in England as if it were around the turn of the century. no running water, and the like... it was before Frontier House. goooood shows!”

“That guy from Tenn., came back to Montana and went to work for the ranch where the show was filmed. He's been writing and lecturing as well. He seems to have capitalized from living in the 19th century.”

“Hey, Aero-cam couldn't be any worse than Anna-Nicole. Plus I wouldn't puke on camera.”

“I missed all of the Montana show. Was his wife a real B1tch on the show. If you could tell they were unhappy and she was a rag it must have been bad. How did the kids do on the show.
Hope they rerun it so I can tape it.”

“Ewker - Fronteer House was very interesting. The woman from Kentucky was definitely a B1tch on the show (IMHO). I am not surprised her ex-husband is happier now. The young boy from KY and the youngest girl from CA were really into it. I Iiked them and it was sad to see them slip back into their old lifestyles when they got back.

"The Bachelor" show definitely has its cruel aspects. However, I will go along with an earlier post that says they volunteered for the show so they don't deserve much sympathy.

It seems immoral to be dating more than one person that seriously at the same time. How can you build any real trust?

Is it demeaning to women? I guess it implies that they need an "Alpha male" around to be fulfilled. In that sense I guess it is. (Not ever having been an Alpha male, I don't have any experiences to draw from).”

“yeah, the woman from KY seemed pretty insecure and focused on the wrong things. every time they showed her, she was talking about how she and her family were so much better than the rest of the people on the show. it was pretty funny!”

“I'm from the Bach's hometown. Word on the street is Helene but that Brooke would fit in better w/all us "hillbillies". I say Helene. Check out the body language. Helene is holding out on him, mentally anyways, and he hates/loves that.”

“I'm from the same county as Brooke... she's about 30 minutes away from me. Word is around here that he has been spotted out with her. I guess we'll find out in about 20 minutes!”

“He fooled me. I suspect he was attracted to Helene from the start and she finally came on strong. She is pretty, but frankly her voice was sort of irritating. Brooke and Gwen seemed pretty sweet. I am really impressed with his stage presence.

I said I wouldn't watch this time but accidentally caught the third show and got sucked in. We'll see what the girls have to say tomorrow.”

“So he choose Helene? I fell asleep with about 10 minutes left in the show!”

“Yes. He proposed to Helene on one knee with a ring and she accepted. He acted really stoked about it.”

“I thought Brooke was going to be his choice, but my daughter and her friends watched together and thought she was a psycho-babe with a weird family prone to violence. They weren't surprised at all by the outcome.

I'll bet thinks Helene is really hot.”

“i don't like helen, she is fake. did you see how stupid she reacted when he gave her the ring? I think the girl is after his money and nothing else.

she looks better then brooke,but brooke got a heart, I don't think helen got one, at least she did not find it yet.”

“Oh Phil.. don't let your daughter talk like that! Brooke is not psycho, I think she acted way more mature than any of the other girls. She was also very sincere and caring with a great head on her shoulders. Who cares about her father's history? She has not turned out a bad girl and thats all that matters. Her mom and her step father are also great and care alot about that girl. I think that says alot.”

“Miss Opie - I tend to agree with you about Brooke. I thought he was going to choose her, partly for the reasons you mentioned.

We don't know everything that took place. With only about 1% of the information to base our conclusions on, it is hard to really understand. He obviously saw something in Helene he liked that outweighed what Brooke and Gwen had to offer.

Helene's voice bothers me. On the other hand, Brooke's Southern accent is very easy on the ears!!”
