Torre GTX “Hey i got some Montrail Torre GTX boots the other day. Are they good shoes? The sails clerk said that they are, I was woundering if there were any personal opinions on the shoes?” 8:39:28 PM 3/27/02 “I ordered the Montrail Vercors last week should be in tommorrow! Ill let you know then! boot fit-go to” 8:41:25 PM 3/27/02 “how do they hold up over a week trip? do they kill your feet?” 8:52:28 PM 3/27/02 “over a week trip ? how many miles? if a decent amount the are going to hurt regardless, mine do” 8:54:01 PM 3/27/02 “I don't like there boots. 8) But thats just me!” 8:55:30 PM 3/27/02 “I have a pair of the Torres. Beautiful boot...but they tear the he!! out of my heels. I've heard they have an exceptionally long break in time. I had to buy another pair of boots. I haven't given up hope on the Montrails yet. Really want them to work.” 9:09:44 PM 3/27/02 “I bought a pair of Montrail Torre gtx boots a few months ago and have probably a little less than a hundred miles on them. I like them and haven't developed any blisters or discomfort. I bought them a half size big so I can wear 2 thick pairs of socks in cold weather. They're are dry and supportive in wet, rough trails, but for dry, warm weather, easy trails I plan to use my Lowa Tanark's. The Torre is a good boot for certain conditions.” 9:23:55 PM 3/27/02 “I have a pair of Montrail Moraines. Good sturdy, heavy-duty boot. However after a very long break in period and lots of sore feet, I realized that after my feet swelled while hiking, they became too small. I liked the boot, but they didn't have much give. Pay attention and if the fit is bad, try to take them back. I wore mine too long to do that.” 10:06:53 PM 3/27/02 Montrails “I've had two pairs, the first was when they were made by One Sport, and they were damn good boots. The 2nd pair is from Montrail and I won't hike in them anymore unless the conditions call for a bomb proof boot, unfortunately my feet aren't bombproof and they feel like they've been bombed after wearing them. Uphill it's the heels with deep blisters, downhill it's the bottom of the feet feeling badly bruised. I've also got a pair of Montrail trail runners and they're extremely comfortable.” 12:18:23 AM 3/28/02 “I have the Montrail Moraines. I can only hike 5 miles before the heels start hurting. I think the break in was 500 miles, but at 5 mi at a time, it'll take forever. I use them for snowshoeing. They keep the feet warmer than my Raichles, and I'm moving at a slower pace, so it doesn't hurt the feet as much. I'll break them in one of these days.” 12:49:10 AM 3/28/02 “this sounds bad!! i may send mine back?? ill give you a update when I get mine in.” 6:02:02 AM 3/28/02 “I gave up on my Morraines. Love them, great boot but they keep wrecking my feet. I went back to Vasque and my feet are happy.” 6:58:06 AM 3/28/02 “eeek!! Stop scaring me! Oh, well! My trip is in a few months so i got plenty of time to break them in. I hope! How do they do in snow?” 7:21:09 AM 3/28/02 “Hey it's your feet, listen to them. Some folks won't use any other brand.” 7:28:16 AM 3/28/02 “I'm going to wear mine to work all summer to break them in better (hopefully). They are heavy duty and very supportive. I got a pair of mid duties for the wait until I can wear them backpacking. I can't return mine, refuse to let them sit in the closet.” 7:47:51 AM 3/28/02 “I just bought a pair of Vercors. I absolutely love them. I have two friends who bought the Asolo Fusion 95 and they have turned them into work boots because of blister problems.” 7:53:49 AM 3/28/02 “how do they do in snow, and cold whether?” 7:14:33 PM 3/28/02
