RL - LOL! There are way too many wastewater treatment plants that discharge into River Raisin - (I used to do some work in Monroe County) - I wouldn't hold your breath on that one.

Yes, Sass, I will have a filter. I just finished packing.
If this weekend is as nice this afternoon was, we're in for a treat!

Cool, I can leave ours at home! My first time carrying all my gear. I got Tarabull to carry the stakes and tyvek ground cloth...but all else is my burden.

So do you want me to bring a radio? If so, what channel? Ours have 14. Choose a number. =) I'm so excited.

Sounds like Tarabull and me will have LeSubtil all to ourselves, ooolala! LOL

Hi Hikin' Friends.

Chicago is a drag. The good news, Sass, is that I may get an earlier start on Friday than I originally thought. I might be home by 4ish instead of 4:30/5:00. That will give me a better chance to be ready when you show up at 5:30.

See ya then.

I'll probably spend Friday night with you guys. Then, we'll see. I can handle 1.5 miles to the lake. I'll be leaving at 2:19PM. I'll probably be there by 7PM. Should I hike in or wait at the parking area?

It's not too late to change your mind Smiley. =)

I packed my pack today. 31#s with my food and a platy full, and a pint nalgene of water + a pint of "other liquid". Not bad eh? It's less than it usually weighs when Birch is along to tote some of the gear.

Well, no slack packing for you this weekend, huh Sass?

Still trying to get my handyman over this weekend. I'm going to buy some mulch and put it down as soon as I log off of here tonight. Rest of hte weekend will be spent sleeping, walking, finish my taxes (I'm a slacker), possibly working, starting lesson plans for my class next week (I'm three lessons behind), cleaning my car and garage out, etc.

So much for my relaxing weekend!

Make that 6. Diane from backpacker.com and NW Metro Detroit is coming, too. She'll be at the trailhead at 8PM. I'll probably just hang out there until she comes.

Yeah! Cow Patty and RL (and Diane). COOL.

Tomorrow night can't come fast enough.

It was 69* and mostly sunny in Chicago today. It was gorgeous. Of course, I spent most of the day inside. Oh well....

Mio weather: 50s during the day. 30s at night. I'll take it!
