Here are my photos from Johnson's Shut-In's State Park in Missouri.

A very neat place. The Ozark Trail runs right through it as well as the Black River.

Very nice pics, Stikmon. My husband visited that place when he was in Univ. at Rolla. It must be crowded in summer, with all that water to play in.

it is a mecca
when the water is lower, people go out into the shut=ins and just hang out. they bring picinic lunches out and set up house right on the rocks where they are sitting in the water...pretty cool.

I might go up there this summer to see if I can get picked up by a woman.

That is not the Black River I'm used to in NE Arkansas. It looks nice in Missouri.

moz, your right, even here in my town, where the black river comes close, the river looks crappy, up north, it is pristine. Sometime I might float a hike up there...it is real nice.

thank you...If you and your husband are ever staying up here for a length of time...lets go do this hike...with 2 cars we can thru hike the 11 1/2 miles from Johnsons shut ins to Taum sauk mtn st pk.
