Hey RL Allegan Trip Report!

“Hey dude this place was ok I did about 18 miles of hiking/tree hopping/bushwacking/1 crazy creek crossing/no trail at all hiking.

The trail was like this the loop around the Swan Creek Pond was ok on the south part but when you 118 Av and go on the north loop thats when the big change happens the trail is very poor but marked well and trying to find the other turn off for the Cross Country Loop Trail is just not there so I did cross country bushwacking.It was not there on the south end eather.They need to get a trail crew out there!On a better note there were alot of birds out there and lots of big fish in the creeks I thought that was cool.

“Geez, if crazy mike thinks a trail is okay it must be really terrible.

That actually doesn't seem too far from my personal experiences there. I enjoyed the Swan Creek impoundment loop, but it's more of an I-can't-get-farther-north-so-I'll-hike-here sort of place.

Too bad, really. In the Trail Atlas of Michigan it looks like about 50 or 60 miles of trail were once there.
