I think somebody's very happy to be un-grounded!

Well, what can I say? He's managed to stay ungrounded for maybe a day total since the Savage Gulf hike. Sometimes kids just need to check and make sure the rules are still the same, you know? He has verified this now and I think he'll be happy to assume their continued existence without checking for, you know, another day or two at least.

(Why do they have to be teenagers??? Can't they just skip that part???)

***groan*** So much to look forward to...I don't dread the teen years so much with my son (now 11).....but when my daughter gets there, I am not sure I will survive.

Ah yes, 11 is when they start to turn to the dark side. Good luck Chili!

yep, 11 is about right for boys to go to the dark side. Can't speak for girls. The question is, when do they come out? In my experience, near 18 and waiting. And I have a near 16 year old and a six year old, all boys. argghhh, I'll be 60 before I no longer have a teenager.

I've heard 25. I keep praying that's wrong...

that rings true with my experience growing up. I got married at 21, and marriage usually helps you come to the light side. We definitely noticed an improvement in behavior with a nice and steady girlfriend. All hell broke loose when they broke up.

I was a pretty good teenager but still ended up grounded for most of my junior year of high school for bad grades. My mom was a real b!tch when I was that age, but I mostly chalked it up to me being the first to leave the nest.

Bonus for my mom: I couldn't wait to get out of the house. As soon as I could, I was gone. Part of what made it easier was that I was paying rent to stay at home after I got out of high school and had a job.

Had dinner with my son last night. He's 24 now. I think things changed between 17-18. I've noticed a really big difference the last year or so.

Tell me about it....
I have a 10 year old and a 15 year old. The 15 year old can't understand why I do NOT want her 'hangin' with her 20 year old friend, who just happens to be a boy. Not a boyfriend, just a friend. Yeah, right.

I need a shot of whiskey just thinking about my daughter's teen years......and I have 6 more years to wait before they begin.

The whiskey doesn't really work, it just makes you feel numb and more confused. ;-)

yeah, you're right pathman. However, sometimes, numb and confused is a step up. LOL.

I guess you are right, numb and confused may be better than just confused.
