Kelty Dart 2 “Does anyone have the Kelty Dart 2? I believe this is the smallest 2 person tent out there. I have owned a Kelty Zen for years and it works great. But I was hoping to shave about 2 1/2 pounds by going with the Dart. Has anyone owned this tent or know of similiar lightweight 2 person tents- I can get the Dart2 for $99. My budget can go higher, but I can't go supper pricey Thanks” 12:25:40 PM 4/04/02 My dear old Dart! “Yes! I love it! Although some complain about moisture collecting on the inside, it's not that bad and makes up for it with it's light weight and packability. It's super easy to set up and very comfy.” 1:13:15 PM 4/04/02 “Jerbear had one and complained about the condensation inside. I bought one, but got rid of it before I ever used it.” 3:24:21 PM 4/04/02 Depends (not the underwear) “If you're worried about condesation and room, get a two-man, double wall (rain fly), normal, heavy tent. I have a SD Clip CD3 for that. If you want light, fast, small, single-wall, fast-packing ultra-light, solo trip, etc., etc, get the Dart.” 3:31:48 PM 4/04/02 Might depend.... “on where the tent, Kelty Dart or others, is being used. With all the humid days & nights in Michigan all year around at, say 400 feet elevation, I probably wouldn't use a single wall tent. In a more arid climate, IMO the Dart would be a good choice.” 7:55:27 PM 4/04/02 Right “I use a Dart 2 in high altitude alpine areas in Montana where it's low humidity. At 10,000 feet it works well for me!” 10:07:05 AM 4/05/02 “So cow patty (or anyone) what kind of lightwieght tent would you recomend for high humidy areas? I have been looking at the Dart for my tent purchase some day” 10:57:50 AM 4/06/02 “I have a dart, one-person, wgich has served me semi-well the few times I have used it. It is verrrry lightweight and roomy enough for me, my traildoggie and backpack. The condensation definitely was a factor, but for solo lightweight hikes, it is right on. (trade-off between absolute comfort and lightweight) It doesn't seem likely that I will use the dart again though, since PatchyG is now officially retired (at 16 years of age) from traildoggin' and I have a two-legged hiking companion now. Plus, I have another solo tent, which I use more frequently. So....anybody want my Dart? amyg@backpacker.com” 8:52:36 AM 4/07/02 adventure girl “Want to check your email?” 4:46:56 PM 4/07/02 “The Dart is bad, even in arid Southern California. I don't know about the Dart 2, but I used a Dart one night in the summer last year. It was very dry out and I still woke up all wet.” 8:56:16 PM 4/08/02 “AmyG..is that a want as in a crazy mike deal?..or you putting it up for bid?..I'd like to try it out, maybe!” 9:27:38 PM 4/08/02
