Hey all,

I have just finished the new version of my website and would like some of your comments / suggestion. As you can notice there are no banners or pop ups because I decided there is just no money in the web and I'm now during for the pure love of hiking and for the few people who enjoy my site.

Looks pretty neat, I don't know how to do that so I can't make useful comments. The pic under photos didn't load. When you get some traffic it may develpop nicely with used gear, etc. Liked the bear articles.

It was my understanding that pop ups were a webmatser's right in exchange for the free service they provide for the world and anyone who thinks otherwise is just ungrateful? Why the sudden swing in theology?

Nigal,

Pop-ups are a webmaster's right. They could put 50 banners and pop-ups on every page of their site if they wanted. Banners are a way to try and make some money and I just gave up in trying. Now I can just enjoy what I'm doing and now there are no annoying distractions like a flashing banner at the top saying "Punch the monkey".

Wasn't "Punch The Monkey" the name of a Genesis song? I hate Phil Collins and Genesis music.

There was "Shock the Monkey" by Peter Gabriel. He left Genesis in 1975.

I agree 100%. It just makes a web site suck though.
