A TV star in the making? That is very cool!

We had a pool party for Gracie yesterday. I was not sure if she would do it or not, but to my somewhat surprise, she jumped off the diving board with her floatie into the arms of my neice. At 17 months, I was not sure she would go for this yet. I put her on the board and she walked right off the end laughing all the way. I should have grabbed the video camera!

Since I have been here last my boys have grown..omg...they do that. They are really men now! The oldest is working his way through life..he has made a few terrible mistakes but he is getting there. The youngest is doing really good. As hot as it is out football practice started yesterday!!

I'm excited the season is starting..I've turned into an obnoxious scream fan...!!!

Just found out last night that BowlderSon landed a major role in our city's local ballet company's (full length) production of The Nutcracker. He'll be The Nutcracker Prince, as well as a Russian in the Russian dance in the 2nd act. Last year, they invited him to dance this part kind of last minute, but they're taking a more formal approach to things this year. BowlderSon had to audition this year. They're going to pair him with a girl dancing the part of Clara who is also an excellent dancer. Should be a great show!!

Yeah, it was pretty cool last year. He got to hang out with the professional dancers they brought in for the key roles...

...and here's the girl that we think they might pair him with. He can actually lift her, so they might work that into the choreography somehow....

You taught your kid how to hide under women's skirts? How naughty. ; )

No seriously. That is very cool. Extra kudos for him dancing ballet. That is so admirable and courageous for a boy to pursue that.

Kewl Beans!

He doesn't have any fear of being called a sissy or something for dancing. He's learned that he can both:

A. Hang out with nice lookin' chicks where they far outnumber him; and

B. When necessary on the baseball field, grind some kids head into the dirt tagging him out at the plate.

Pictures?

If she was was elected homecoming queen, y'all just know she has a MySpace page.

The old violin homepage.

We need a pix to prove she exists, LOL.

What makes this extra special is that she was so mad at us when we moved to a new school district at the beginning of her freshman year. She was sure we'd ruined her life by moving her away from her friends since 1st grade.

Things work out.

BowlderSon has been asked to be part of a local documentary on dancers that will be part of the Nutcracker production this December (he will dance the "Nutcracker Prince" role, plus participate in the Russian dance in the 2nd act and maybe one or two other scenes). They shoot on Monday!

He also did a number on a pair of pants (and they wear uniforms) which his teacher says I should frame.

His goal in life for some time was to earn his scissors back from his teacher.

Busybee came home from school yesterday and announced that for the 5th year in a row, she had beat both the girls and boys at her elementary school during the Presidential awards one mile run. Not to mention that she brought home her report card last night and it was all A's. She must get that from her mother...

Snif Snif...my son was walking through REI and we came to the backpacks. His mother said,"What do you need from REI?"

He looked at her and said,"Well I am a little tall for my youth pack." I was so proud of him. He decided on the Gregory Z pack and we are working on some other toys. He really came to bat on the GEAR HEAD stuff. LOL His mother would start to protest and he would mention video games....BOOM in like flynn with new gear.

It just gets better and better

My kids are grown and in college. They have been home for the week and we've had a really nice time. Today they leave for their dad's.

So yesterday I called to let them know I was on my way home from work and was asked to stop at the grocery store for a few things. I get home and there's dinner on the table, beautiful place settings and candles lit all over the dining room. Not only that but to make the meal they had done preplanning and grocery shopping.

They have no idea why I was moved to tears.
After 20 years of getting home to "What's for dinner" cries before I even set down my work bag.

My kids are awesome!

My kid is 11 and he is starring as The Nutcracker, which opens tonight (2 shows tomorrow, too)! He has worked his butt off preparing for this, and will be performing with the top local ballet talent, along with several pros they hired for some of the key roles.

It's nice to read these things from proud parents. Thanks for sharing.

A few weeks ago, BusyBee got the flu and was down for 10 days. She lost ten pounds. It was scarey. She has bounced back in full force and is doing well. Last night she asked me when we were going hiking and camping!!

This year, I'm going to see if #1 will be up for reading the evening Christmas story to the whole family this year. It's amazing how far above his age level he reads at.

"Q I cannot believe it, he's just a BABY! Time flies."

Yes it does. He's not a baby anymore. His first year of football was this past fall. We've always considered him a beefy kid; he was the smallest kid on the team. Got his rear handed to him many times, cried a few, but got back up and laid them out himself.

He's been bugging me to get him out on the trail. I've been holding off until #2 can sleep through the night without providing a water bed during the night.

This spring is gonna be totally, completely and utterly the best one so far!
