Laural just did that last week, too. All of her long, blond curls are gone. Now it's cute, curly little brown bob that really makes her look like the mischievous imp that she is.

+3 - wow wow wow. Very cool ped-x!

I also want to say, that my son graduated from high school a couple weeks ago! :) Two years ago, i wasn't sure I'd ever get to say that, but he kicked ass his senior year, made honor role a couple of times and plans to come back to CO and enroll in a fire science technology program so that he can someday join a fire department. :)

That's great Roam.

I have a cousin in the local fire department (he saved our cat when we had a fire). He knew when he finished high school that he wanted to be in the fire department, so he served in the army to get some relevant training and accrue the veteran's points for civil service and studied hard.

I'm looking for my other son to get a clear idea of what he will do with his life - he struggles with some serious handicaps, but they aren't so strong that they can't be overcome with some focus and motivation. It's hard, its like his brother got a triple dose of confidence (to the point it seems like arrogance sometimes) and this one got none.

hard to reconcile the differences between siblings. My daughter got most of the motivation and drive (or so it seemed for a long time), but now Alex is catching up. I'm just thrilled that he has a plan for himself and a goal in mind.

I love public middle school. All my kids got free music lessons. My oldest plays Violin, the middle plays flute and my son is playing the Violin as well... They are all much more musically inclined than I ever was.

My son is quite the musician. He was chosen for All County Repertory Orchestra. Also, he was chosen to be First Chair - First Violin which is considered the "Concert Master" (the person who leads tuning and prepares the orchestra for performance). He is in 7th grade.

Not really bragging, but...

My oldest son graduated from High School yesterday... Afterwards, the family went over to his house...

In 1st grade his teacher had the students do a time capsule.. It was basically a shoe box, with stuff in it, that was then wrapped in a paper bag..

While we really dont remember doing it, the teacher had the parents write a brief letter to their child.. She must have given them an outline of what to write.. ie friends, favorite games, farorite movies, tv shows etc etc..

It was hard to believe but when he was in 1st grade, the whoe y2k thing was happening..

Anyway, by the time he was done reading the letter his mom was in tears..

It really was a neat idea that the teacher had...

God they grow up sooooo fast..

What a very cool thing, 32oz.

Yes, they do grow up fast. And when they are grown, they will have all those cool memories of all the camping and backpacking trips that had with their dad and all the fun stuff you guys did.

Despite getting kicked out of violin lessons (worst behavior the teacher had seen in 25 years) Laurel is persevering (I have to be present at all lessons now) and finally found a song she likes to play: Cripple Creek. She even wanted HPM to find variations online (She's chewing through one that's got lots of sharps) and is enjoying trying to figure it out on her own.

HOT DAMN! FINALLY!
