Helinka, do you work overnights? I used to. It's tough. Totally throws your body outta whack.” 9:42:53 PM 10/30/04 “i love it, except that i usually get home right after the plows have gone down the road” 9:44:11 PM 10/30/04 “Helinka, third shift is tough, good luck. Artex, maybe there should be a TT ice fishing trip this winter.” 9:46:46 PM 10/30/04 “Splendid idea, old chap!” 10:21:13 PM 10/30/04 “Yuck, I sure do hate the shorter days. Think I have that seasonal affected disorder, or whatever it's called. Heck, I start dreading shorter days waaaaaaaaay before now!” 10:06:37 AM 10/31/04 “Yea!!!!! Daylight Savings Time starts Sunday April 3! Less than two weeks away. Spring forward!” 10:36:49 AM 3/22/05 “You have my vote on that. I really like DST” 10:59:24 AM 3/22/05 “Blech! I have hard enough time getting up in the morning. Now it's going to be dark when my alarm goes off! : (” 1:25:12 PM 3/22/05 “Quick, while there's still time to act, somebody call Congress and tell them to scrap DST because Pixie doesn't like it.” 3:10:05 PM 3/22/05 “Geo, pixie doesn't get up until 7 or 8 am..it will be light outside” 3:11:35 PM 3/22/05 “I was just taking her word for it. You mean she lied?” 3:14:27 PM 3/22/05 “she's a woman..need I say more ;)” 3:17:19 PM 3/22/05 “I get up at 6 if I go to they gym in the morning. Otherwise I get up at 7:30. Which when daylight savings kicks in the sun will be coming up at 7:30 in Seattle. Damn latitude!” 3:31:03 PM 3/22/05 gimme a double “Do any of you folks from Alabama remember the year we went on Double Daylight Savings? (I may be showing my age here)” 4:00:53 PM 3/22/05 “Why do they call it Daylight Saving Time? It doesn't save time at all.” 2:19:20 PM 3/23/05 “I remember not going off DST one year...but I don't remember doing a double summer time. But perhaps I'm younger than you, canoeman...” 2:22:46 PM 3/23/05 “double daylight savings time was used in WWII as I recall - gave people daylight to work in their victory gardens” 2:54:43 PM 3/23/05 “Daylight savings time is for city folks and idiots. What, do you put the daylight in a bucket and save it to be used later in the day? There are just so many hours of daylight and you can’t legislate more. Cutting the blanket off at one end and sewing it on the other end doesn’t make the blanket longer. If you need more day light, get out of bed earlier. Many farmers, ranchers, construction workers, loggers and others that work outside have been doing that for years. Just live according to the location of the sun instead of the location of the hands on the clock.” 3:42:59 PM 3/23/05 “LOL @ mtn gal” 3:44:47 PM 3/23/05 “What mtn gal said.... I was gonna say sumtin' smart arse like that but she beat me to it....you go girl!” 3:47:27 PM 3/23/05 “i'm prety sure daylight savings was implimented so i can play more golf after work” 3:48:12 PM 3/23/05 “Just a reminder, its coming this weekend. Don't forget to move your clocks forward Saturday night before you go to bed.” 9:26:54 AM 3/31/05 “I hate daylight savings time. I can't adjust to it.” 9:29:26 AM 3/31/05 “I love it. Living only 50 miles or so west of the Eastern/Central timezone divide means that the friggin' sun is coming up at 5:30AM, and goes down at about 6:00PM or so. On Monday, magically the sun will rise at around 6:30AM and set around 7:00PM. I really enjoy having an extra hour of sun after I get home from work.” 9:33:40 AM 3/31/05 “Daylight sucking time.” 9:36:24 AM 3/31/05 “Daylight savings is muy fantastico!” 9:39:51 AM 3/31/05 “I say set the clocks to DST and tear off the freaking knob!” 10:13:20 AM 3/31/05 “According to info up on cnn.com right now, they tried that back in '74-'75, but concerns with school children safety in the winter axed it.” 10:30:54 AM 3/31/05 “Yep, a lot of kids waiting on buses in the dark. I remember it well.” 10:34:22 AM 3/31/05 ““According to info up on cnn.com right now, they tried that back in '74-'75, but concerns with school children safety in the winter axed it.” techntrek 11:30:54 AM 3/31/05 ignore this user I find that ridiculous, at least for my area. After daylight savings time started we got an extra month were we weren't waiting for the bus in the dark, but it ended up being dark when we got home as soon as it started.” 10:34:45 AM 3/31/05 “hmmm... Do you mean once daylight savings time ended LZ, When DST starts there will be more light in the evening and the sun will come up later.” 10:40:12 AM 3/31/05 “I thought the fall back was the start of DST and the spring forward was the end of it. Just looked it up. I had it backwards. last edited: 3/31/05 10:48:34 AM” 10:46:19 AM 3/31/05 “No Spring forward starts DST, Fall back starts Standard time.” 10:48:28 AM 3/31/05 “So you gain an hour of sleep in the spring and lose an hour in the fall?” 11:01:46 AM 3/31/05 “The opposite. "Spring forward, fall back." So in the spring you loose an hour because the clock moves forward an hour. From a legal/reality standpoint, the hour between 2 am and 3 am doesn't exist in the spring, and that same hour exist twice in the fall. A real b!tch for programmers and courts. Think about a point in time that should exist exactly once (2:15 am), but once a year it doesn't exist at all and once a year it exists twice. Yucky logic issues crop up. last edited: 3/31/05 11:05:46 AM” 11:02:53 AM 3/31/05 “You loss an hour of sleep in spring and gain an hour in the fall.” 11:03:08 AM 3/31/05 “On Sunday, April 3rd, the sun will rise at 6:27 AM and set at 7:16 PM. Yeeeehaaawwww! I love DST! An hour of sleep lost on a Saturday night is well worth the price of an extra hour of evening daylight. Get your own Sunrise/Sunset calendar. last edited: 3/31/05 12:45:20 PM” 12:43:42 PM 3/31/05 “holly scheisse...Day light saving time...is awesome... I love it. Takes me a couple days to get used to waking up early, but I have an hour longer at night. My park closes at 9PM (instead of 6PM) meaning I can run the park again and not the freaking neigborhood.” 12:49:37 PM 3/31/05 “Boo Hoo Hoo! ;-)” 8:31:34 PM 10/30/05 “I tried to remember how to change the time on my watch...i fiddled with it for like half an hour before getting the time to change.... then at 1300...I realized I had somehow changed it to military time and I have no idea how to change it back :(” 8:33:36 PM 10/30/05 “Have you noticed an urge to wear camo and salute doormen?” 8:38:28 PM 10/30/05 “I HATE THE TIME CHANGE!!!” 8:57:12 PM 10/30/05 “Because of DST, I was 45 minutes early to Menards this morning to get parts for a plumbing project. I had to sit and drink coffee in the parking lot listening to music and relaxing rather than doing my work. My, life is rough.” 9:10:14 PM 10/30/05 “Sir, YES SIR!” 9:10:27 PM 10/30/05 “I don't think I would have told anyone that, pitts. LOL” 9:12:57 PM 10/30/05 “dst is the worst invention since sliced bread” 9:18:25 PM 10/30/05 “Dang those kids in their schoolbuses on the dark roads!!!! ;-)” 9:19:06 PM 10/30/05 “BlackWidow ;-) last edited: 10/30/05 9:20:01 PM” 9:19:30 PM 10/30/05 “I mooned a school bus once full of kids. I was 12.” 9:19:54 PM 10/30/05 “WHO is BlackWidow? And anyhoo, aren't we back to real names? (so to speak...)” 9:26:35 PM 10/30/05
