Back from NY - WTCView MessagesViewing posts 1 to 5 of 5 messages posted.
World Trade Center “Lookingglass & I are back from visiting our family in NY & PA for Easter. We went to the WTC site, but it was 11pm and only family of the dead were allowed to the viewing platform at that time. As you may have read, there are beams of light shooting up into the sky to outline where the bldgs once stood. We went to LG's old NY apt. bldg. on Maiden Lane and onto it's roof to view the now gone WTC 1& 2. All that could be seen was an empty spot with bull dozers and cranes moving about. There were many memorials set up along the streets to commemorate those who had lost their lives. The streets were watered down to suppress the dust flying about which could be seen through the old bldgs. site. I saw the dust and felt it in my throat. Needless to say, there is a very somber tone around the area.” 9:43:46 PM 4/07/02 “I bet that is a sight to see. I was there and took pictures of the WTC towers September 8.” 10:46:45 PM 4/07/02 Thank you for posting this “The WTC is a place that I have fond memories of. having worked in ny and had friends from college that worked at the WTC and no longer are alive, is still hard for me to comprehend. Thank you for putting up this post.” 10:49:33 PM 4/07/02 (TD, not prowler) “Will be there this weekend.” 3:02:21 PM 4/08/02 “My grandparents live in N.Y's Chinatown...which is quite close to ground zero...they say there's still alot of dust floating around. Traffic is horrendous there, after 9/11.” 12:01:51 AM 4/09/02
