A few months ago a "neighbor" moved and abandoned his 2 cats. One took off immediately. The other one hung around for a few months until she started hanging out in my yard, because I keep out dishes of water for the critters. She was almost starved to death, declawed, had very severe skin allergies from the bug bites, and was missing more than half her fur. I don't think she'd ever been outside before. I've been feeding her for 2 weeks now, and looks much better. She has a wonderful personality. She's also at least 10 years old, so she's up there. She has laid claim to the chair on my front porch. She is extremely laid back, and greets everyone who comes to the door.

We used to have a cat that came with the house. It insisted on staying for the next occupants as well when we moved out. It was missing both its ears and half its tail (frostbite I assume). It was a cool cat, though.

There are a few things in this world that get me VERY angry. Dumping unwanted family members is one."

I guess you're going to be angry with me now just because I left my grandmother at the park!?! 8^D

p.s. a ferret would never eat your head if you keeled on it. It would, however, probably burrow into your pants and make a nest there.

Gee, I thought a ferret would just steal your shoes and everything out of your pockets. That's what my aunt's ferrets used to do.

They seem to go crazy for any type of crinkly plastic... And it does surprise people when one starts to crawl up their pants leg, LOL

I heard that in Jolly Old England the poachers had special pockets in their pants for their ferrets. They would take a stroll over to someone else's property and send the ferrets down a rabbit-hole.

Ummm Ummmm, STEW.

Look out, Bugs!

another master eating story
An Alsatian dog ate its owner's dead body after being trapped in a house with the woman's corpse for several weeks, Austrian police said Wednesday. Police said the 78-year-old pensioner, from the southern Austrian province of Styria, had likely died from natural causes before being devoured by her starving dog. Local Austrian media said the woman had last been seen around April 20. Police made the grisly discovery Tuesday evening after breaking in to the locked house.
