Fiery Gizzard April 27-28

“For all interested-my next trip planned is April 27-28 on the Fiery Gizzard Trail near Tracy City, TN. Email me at Adelicia1@aol.com for details,etc.
We will start on the Grundy Co. side, hike to Raven Point, spend the night and then hike out the Foster Falls side on Sun.”

“That will be an AWESOME trip.. might try to join ya if I am free that weekend.”

“I'd like to go on that hike - I'll ask the wife (boss) if we have anything planned. My daughter and I went to Foster Falls last summer and went swimming - nice place.”

“I can't make it that weekend. That is the weekend that I am going on my first backpacking trip with the folks from Tenn Trails. It sounded like you guys had a blast on the trip you just went on. I will work my way up so I can go on some of your trips before long.”

“Ooo, I wish I could, but the last weekend in April is always -- for me -- devoted to Merlefest! (That's the bluegrass festival in NC that I've been going to for 8 years now.) I'm hoping to go with you in June to GSMNP.”

“Katibug, Khatru and I will try to be there.”

“I'll see what's going on then. I might be there.”

“Katibug, which branch of the trail are you planning on hiking on? The rim branch or the one that goes down into the gizzard, that looks like a mutha to get out of the gorge, but it looks cool.”

“The gorge part is tougher but a very beautiful walk. The Rim has nice overlooks so either is good.”

“I'm glad I picked up the trail maps while out there. this looks like a monster hike up. so I might just stay up and snap vistas, who knows...give me a couple of beers, and maybe I'll even dance.................ewwwwwwwwwww....scarry thought...sorry, its the muscle relaxers talking.”

“We will start at the Grundy Forest trailhead and hike up the Dog Hole Trail to Raven Point, spend the night and then hike out Foster Falls the next day. Looking forward to seeing you and K again.”

“You all feel free to hike the gorge. The rest of us will see you at Raven Point. After hiking the Connector trail, I am not in the mood to do the rock hop thing again for awhile. Going down and up the gorge near Small Wilds will be enough for me on this trip.”

“just hook me to Khatru and he'll pull me out. Looking forward to comin back to Tenn. I will get there late fri nite again.”

“will we not be having a fire at Raven's point? My map says no. does that mean no?”

“Nope, can't have a fire there. It'll prolly be warm enough that we won't need one. Plus, if it rains a fire will die any way.
Bring your headlamp.”

“mine is brighter than yours...nany nany poo poo. It looks like a great hike...lots of good photo ops. I'm gonna take lots of good pics.”

“can you make the canoe trip next month?”

“Actually, if you want to do the actual Fiery Gizzard Trail Thru-Hike than you will go through the gorge. he trail on the rim is the Dog Hole Trail.”

“What canoe trip?”

“Since Raven Point is on private land and the owner prohibits fires, we will not have a fire. The park ranger visits each night there and if he finds someone with a campfire he makes the party leave.”

“If I come I'll do the gorge with walkindude and stikmon.

That way there'll be two of us to carry stikmon out.”

What, you mean you didn't like the Connector and Stage Road trails :)? I'll be a wussie this trip, too, because of momma. She's not really the outsy-doorsy type, but she'll hang.”

“I will bring my fake "Hessessy Hammock" (Its really a sears poncho) we can rig it up with poles and ya'll can carry me around like King Schmuck. I won't have to hike at all. Now thats livin..BP, WD, KB...I look forward to see en ya'll again.”

“I liked the Connector and Stage Road just fine. I'm sure glad that I had my trekking poles! It was an intense hike for me on the Connector trail since I have a phobia about heights. It was scary for me.”
