My rain jacket wetted out on me last week in the monsoon we had here in Memphis. I am working to re-condition it, but decided to check into some Frogg Toggs. There was a note on their web site that the DN601 is on sale. Price is $19.99 for XL and XXL,,,,limited colors. Hey, orange works as well as anything else I suppose. Can't wait for the big brown truck to get here.

Chili,
I like my Frogg Toggs. The only problem I have had is some leakage around the collar when the hood is up. I think if I wear a rain hat and keep the hook ripped in the collar the problem will go away.
Good Luck with yours.

I got the jacket and pants, shipped for less than $35. Figured that if I don't like them I won't get burned too bad.

As long as you carry that blade around, I will never say a word about the Golden Eagles.

One good thing about orange, you feel safer when hiking during the fall hunting seasons...

I just ordered two sets for my son and me. They look like they don't take up much space in the pack either. Looking forward to your report!

Downpour Report
It was pouring rain when I got home from work last night. You know what that means! Gear test! I put on my Frogg Toggs and went outside to set up my tarp and tent.

Frogg Togg Pros:
-Light & Simple
-Waterproof in downpour
-Built in hood
-Long sleeves for hands
-Breathable (I've never used Gore-Tex so I can't compare, but I didn't find them any stuffier than my nylon windbreaker.)

Cons:
-I'm tall and the jacket rides up above 'pantline' thus exposing my rear to the elements while setting up camp.
-Baggy, I know this is great in winter when the layers are out, but in the Summer I feel like a marshmallow.
-Looks, ok I know it's really stupid to be concerned about how I look in the woods, but the color I got (khaki) kind of looks like gold and makes me look like a pimp in a big, baggy, gold sweatsuit. I feel much sleeker in my windbreaker. All-in-all a small price to pay for good protection from the elements.

I feel these could easily serve as both windbreaker and rain gear.

Iused mine on ten rainy trips, for whats left of them went to the garbage!

advice:
stay 25 feet from open flames (even ashes will burn through)

stay away from thorns, and burs
