Shooting sprees having nothing to do with guns.

Nigal - the NRA's actions after each massacre destroy any credibility they have with regard to responsible gun ownership. To them responsible gun ownership means everyone in the country being armed to the teeth.
It's all about selfish individuals wanting no-one to take their precious away from them.

Then answer my questions that USA could not:

1) What's the definition of an assault rifle?

2) “Maybe while you're Google-ing a definition, you can look up how many white male NRA members have gone on assault-rifle shooting rampages in the last 5 or 10 years. Heck, you can go back even farther than that.

Non - but the NRA lobbies hard to allow your average spree-killer to be able to arm himself better than any police force without and checks in there whatsoever. That's where they are at fault.

The vast majority of gun owners and NRA members are responsible, but the NRA want's nothing to be done to keep those that aren't in check.

OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) -- The man accused of shooting six people in the Tacoma Mall purchased an assault rifle through a classified ad, and the seller is cooperating with investigators, police say.

The weapon, a Chinese version of the AK-47, had been advertised in a free weekly circular, Tacoma police said Wednesday.
[...]
A police statement said the assault rifle's sale "was within confines of the law."

Any bloodthirsty criminal can buy darn-near any gun and shoot 6 people. The fact that he used a Chinese AK-47 is what gets the press. That is a cheapo, buy-it-for-$100 POS gun. But it's an "assault rifle." He could have done the same with a single shot 12 gauge in a mall. The gun he used is irrelevant, IMO. The fact that we live in a society where whacked-out psychos want to randomly kill people is what concerns me.

I always suspected the "Little Nickel" was an evil ad paper. jk

Local tv news interviewed the 50 to 60 year old guy who sold the weapon in question. The guy had "NRA" written all over him.

"Pasamonte said the concealed weapons permit looked authentic and included what he believed to be a serial number.

A search of personal and public records by The News Tribune revealed that the number matches Maldonado’s Social Security number.

Police spokesman Mark Fulghum said a records check found no concealed weapons permit for Maldonado and that detectives believe the one Pasamonte saw is probably a fake.

“There’s nothing indicating such a permit was ever issued,” Fulghum said."

If you outlaw guns, only the NRA will provide guns to outlaws.

You are making judgements as to what exactly an NRA member is like with absolutely no proof. Someone having "NRA member written all over them" is hardly what we would call openminded.

Just because I am an NRA member does not make me a coward. I support gun control (hitting your target)I also think that anyone that wants to get a gun can. Any crook can get a gun in minutes, but it takes an honest man 25 bucks and an hour wait to be able to go hunting.

Has anyone seen this documentary?

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=46707

I have just seen the finest documentary ever made about the right to self-defense with firearms.

It was produced by my friend and colleague Larry Elder, a WorldNetDaily columnist and an outstanding Los Angeles radio talk-show host.

It's called "Michael & Me," and, as you might imagine, it emulates the style of Michael Moore's documentaries and turns the tables on the filmmaker responsible for "Bowling for Columbine."

This time it's Moore who is hunted down for an ambush interview the way he famously stalked Roger Smith, the chief executive officer of General Motors, in "Roger & Me," and an ailing Charlton Heston in "Columbine."

[...]

Elder makes the compelling case that guns save lives. He doesn't just do it with statistics that no one can deny. He does it with real stories of survivors. He does it with interviews from experts. He does it with the confused thinking of people like Moore, who is, ultimately, ambushed for an interview by Elder.

This documentary leaves no stone unturned in exploring the issue of firearms and self-defense. It covers all the bases. If this is your issue, you will love this movie. If it's not, you will still love this movie and it will become your issue.

[...]

It looks like Michael Moore gets thoroughly PWNED, which ought to be good for a laugh.

Fine. Be closed minded. Your loss. The fact is Drudge gives both sides, and VERY frequently links right to NYT and Washington Post articles (and Yahoo, and Reuters and AP).

To say he's not open minded and to be determined to stick to that conclusion without further investigation really shows that you are not open minded.

But hey, it's your life .... and old people rarely change their ways so I won't try.
