Twiggy, what are your boiled dinner ingredients? My favorite is potato, green beans and bacon. Of course that's the western version.

stovestomper, would it be rude to ask how big my diamond ring would be? You know that when a woman remarries, the ring is usually bigger, I guess because she is older and so is her husband who can afford a nice ring.

This would be my 3rd time, so I think I a big diamond is in order, lol:) Actually, I'm not a materialistic person or a big jewelry person, but my marriage ring is the only jewerly I wear, so I kind of like it to be a nice size.

Well, looks like there will be no ring for me, boo hoo:) If it came down to buying a house or using the ring money as a deposit on a house, I'd buy the house. It would be an investment and something we could both share.

I think I'll pass on the ramen, call me crazy:)

SS, if that's your lunch, I'd hate to see the size of your dinner, lol:) Is this where I go through your mashed potatoes to find my ring? LMAO!!! You know those guys that hide engagement rings in food or drop it into a glass of champagne.

Spirit, no dressing? My relative made a sald with pears and a raspberry dressing and I thought, yuck, but it was good.

Leo, I think gorgonzola is a type of blue cheese.

Is it? All I know is I'm partial to it but never got into bleu cheese. Had someone try to throw out my gorgonzola saying it was moldy and therefore gone bad. Maybe it's a different strain of mold?

Yep, just a different mold.

Leo, that is so freakin funny, someone trying to throw out your cheese, lol. Beware, other regular cheese can get mold, but it's the kind you want to cut off and still keep the cheese which will be fine to eat.

I love fresh mozzarella, regular and smoked along with other smoked cheeses like gouda.

I did a wiki on gorgonzola and I now know more than I ever needed to know:

Gorgonzola is a blue-headed Italian cheese, made from unskimmed cow's milk. It can be buttery or firm, crumbly and quite salty, with a 'bite' from its blue veining. It has been made since the early Middle Ages, but only became marbled with greenish-blue mold in the eleventh century. It is frequently used in Italian cooking.

Gorgonzola is made in the regions of Piedmont and Lombardy from whole pasteurized cows milk to which is added the bacteria, Lactobacillus bulgaricus and Streptococcus thermophilus along with spores of the mold Penicillium glaucum. Recently Penicillium roqueforti has begun being used to make Gorgonzola, besides its use in Roquefort cheese.

I don't like gorgonzola. I've seen it in in restaurants as part of an entree, but resisted trying it and I'm glad because a store had a cheese tasting and they had gorgonzola. I tried it and didn't like it.

A little late in the evening to post this, but I had chicken salad that I made myself for lunch. I make the best chicken salad.

Want a tip? Do a rough chop of the chicken after it's cooked and put it in the cuisinart to mush it up. First grind the onion, so you can add it to the chicken with salt, lots of black pepper and mayo w/celery. I used to hate shredding the chicken to make chicken salad until I got this mini cuisinart pro that chops and grinds. It's a real time saver.
