You must be talking about that Gordon Birsch stuff, yes?

Sudwerk and Gordon Biersch are both lagered beers, and not much like SNPA.

SNPA kicks butt on just about everything. An amazingly complex and delicate balance of malt, bittering hop, and floral hop flavors. Yummm....how long 'til I get off work?

Try the Sudwerk helles instead of the pilsner, sometime. If you can, just get it on tap the one of the restaurants... Some of the waitstaff there call it liquic crack. Once you have it, you keep coming back...

Gordon Biersch is hardly local. Nah. I'm talking about Red Horse Ale by the Sacto Brewing Co.

Man I should have stopped at one...although the other 9 went down just as easy....Other beers I've had in the last week...Sapporo, Guinness, Coors Light, Gordon Biersh, Corona, and some Hard cider...THey're all good cold, but S.N. is the best..Guinness in a close 2nd....

Something further south on the Eastern side? Snow or no snow, something memorable. Something immortal. Something with a view.

The 4WD has new tires, and it's time to hit the road.

Obviously this is a California thread. Never heard of Sierra Nevada brew. But I've had chips and salsa.

Closest I can come is Coronas at the local Mexican place or a few Heinekens tonight in front of the computer.

27th-28th
I'll be in Yosemite that weekend. Tekapo, I also just put new tires on the 4X4 and have been hitting the dirt roads quite a bit lately. Back up to Ishi again this weekend. Last weekend I climbed Snow Mountain and was the 2nd this year to summit, it was an awesome weekend and I was the only one in the whole wilderness.

Yo Dunkster!
What's the snow level up there in Yolla Bolly? I'm thinking of heading there this weekend.

WS, your too kind but you too can put it away, my beer guzzling brother!

SN, you mentioned you were 4'11" in another thread. All this time I was thinking everyone you hiked with was some kind of giant standing next to ya in your photos. I feel like such an idiot!

If anyone is serious about Sunday Peak...it's a hike I could easily arrange...The view from the top is really awesome..a diamond in the rough some might say...If your not afraid to put your 4x4 to good use this could be a great trip..Bring a shovel..you may have to dig yourself out..hehe..seriously if you've got adventure in your blood let me know...most weekends this spring are good for me except the 3-5 of May.....

Is there hiking near Sunday Peak or is it a drive up? Pony keg time?
Pantscandy

both...There are 2 trail heads...One is a brutal 8 mile hike all up hill on an ungraded trail, or option 2 you can drive within 2 miles, and cruise on up..Been up both ways..Option one is a quad killer...

Hey Candy Man
What's happenin', the Bolly's are probably the same as Snow Mountain. West and South facing slopes, as well as ridgelines mostly clear up to and beyond 7000'. Under forrest was pretty solid snow at 6000' maybe lower (my approach on Snow Mtn was mostly open and south facing up to about 6000' so I'm not sure what the snow level would be otherwise). Roads were clear to 5000'. Good luck and let me know about conditions.

Oh yes, Goodyear MTRs. Super thick thread and oversized. Feelin' like running something over. j/k! 8P

You've mentioned Ishi a few times before. It seems that you like that place.

wsdavies, what's the elevation gain in the eight miles? What about something in between with some xcountry? Possible?

Sudwerks
How about this Sunday in Davis? I don't have any floating devices save for my beer bloated carcas maybe. Thats where Sudwerks is isn't it. Or K street mall at the Sacramento Brew Co. Its not outdoorsie but its a less time consuming way to meet each other for trail talk and brew.

jvz - I am busy doing a doggie event this weekend but a Sunday is probably better than a Saturday for Sudwerks - they have quite a crowd on Saturday nights. Maybe next weekend (the 28th). They have a huge paito right by the train tracks.

ok Pepperdog! We'll keep this going and make it happen for us Sacto area TTers. I can't do the following Sunday as I'll be out of town. Cant do Saturdays cause of work so Sundays best for me.Maybe May 5 (Cinco de Mayooo)is enough advance notice for all. Lets see.My e-mail is on TT list too.

Hey, all!

I'd love to meet everyone sometime, and I'd certainly love to drink beer with you. Unfortunately for me, the two weekends we're discussing, I'm bringing in a project we've been working on for a couple of months here at work. We should definitely find a way to make this a semi-regular thing! Who knows, maybe we can even hit a trail or two. ;)

http://topozone.com/map.asp?z=11&n=3960784&e=356719&s=50

Here's a topo of the area...Tekapo..there are all kinds of roads and trails in the area..it just depends on what your up for and where your willing to take your rig...The lower unofficial trail head is at around 5,000 feet...it's not a maintained or graded trail, and fairly brutal...the official trail is graded, but prob. snow covered...Getting to that trail head would be the fun part...6.5 miles of snowy/muddy roads....

Lets see if this thread will stay alive a few days. I'm gone now till Friday but lets say its a go at Sudwerks on Cinco de Mayo at about 3pm. Think that time will work there on a heavy beer drinking day? Phaedrus if you can come late we'll do like the Irish and set a pint aside in your honor. No saying it'll be full when you get there but we can always get more. Rosey if this goes away just hit my e-mail I notice yours isn't listed.

Damn, I work Sundays
Can't make it on Sundays and I'm taking my birthday (5/5) off for an extended weekend trip to who knows where. I'm thinking Hetch Hetchy for backpacking or Modoc/Shasta for general exploration.
