As with last years cook-off, prizes will be awarded to the winning entries and we thought it might be cool to have some of your
homemade crafts/gear as some of the prizes!

The contest will probably be held again in December-so everyone will have plenty of time to get the stuff to us-better yet bring your stuff with you. We have been talking of awarding a prize to the Trail Talker who travels the farthest to get to the contest.

We are hitting everybody up for stuff-TD has the contacts at BRMS & REI. I have been working on the manufacturors with some limited success.Dana Designs kicked in some cool items and some of the others have shot us down,MSR sent us a pretty SH!!!Y response.
My thinking here is that the handmade stuff has more value to a lot of people-just think if Newgirl quilted up some pink bunny ears for Super Troll to wear if he wins a prize-
How about some of the legendary dehydrated stuff from our FRIENDS OUT WEST-or a Stikmon walking stick-a FRAMED PICTURE OF SARABELLE, some exotic trinkets from ChinaChas's travels.
The list is endless-
Please remember the contest is only an excuse to go backpacking and meet a bunch of folks-the prizes are a bonus-I would love a pebble from some neat place like the bottom of the Grand Canyon or the shore in British Columbia-Hell even a cool tradition like moving ashes from fire to fire like the Inchworm gave us last year would be great.”

So the goodies will be given to those who come-but if you want to send something we would love it-be sure to sign or mark what you send so we can give you the glory around the campfire- come if you can-we had around 30 or so from 7 states last year.”

Here's an idea, I used to go to Black Powder shoots years ago and everyone that was in a contest would put something down as an entry fee. After it was over, the person that came in first got to pick the item he wanted. Second place got next pick. ect, ect, ect.......
