Hiking around Boiling Springs, PA
Well, I am up here around Boiling Springs living in a barracks. Is there anyone on this list from around this area who is going hiking or can recommend some places to go...

There should be a lot of great spots near where you are, but I'm over in the next state, lovely New Jersey. If you can ever get the time and want to hit the Catskills in NY, lemme know and I'll be more than happy to let you know of some great routes up there. Best of luck!

PA hiking
Well, closest to you is the AT, since it runs right through Boiling Springs. Central PA is full of hiking though. Get Tom Thwaites books - 50 Hikes in Central PA and 50 Hikes in Western PA and the KTA "Pennsylvania Hiking Trails" book. The farther north you go, the better the hiking - i.e. Quehanna, Donut Hole, Susquehannock, Black Forest, West Rim, etc. The Laurel Highlands Trail isn't too far from you and the Midstate and the John Saylor Trail. Some of the southern PA trails (Mason Dixon, Conestoga, Horseshoe Trail, etc.) have a lot of road walking, but have their interesting moments. Check out the map on the Keystone Trails Association website - there are literally thousands of miles of hiking trails in PA -
