Dating sucks
It does suck when your older. I\'m sick of wasting my time talking about general topics with them instead of talking about more personal things that matter when your trying to get to know someone. I guess thats the defensive posture that women take these days.

Talk about what you want to talk about Artex. It's not about getting A woman, it's about the getting the right woman. The right woman will participate in conversations you want to have. Just think about what communication will be like in years to come if you can't talk on the first date.

Great, here I am in the process of getting a divorce and I have to read all of this. It is going to take sometime getting use to being single again esp. at age 52 or 53 depending on when it becomes offical.

Consult this website to determine what the legal lower age limit might be in your home state.

As far as the ethical lower limit, well, I would suggest no younger than 10 years older than your oldest child.

PD has a point. I've been off the market for 13 years now. For all I know, you go into a singles bar and whack the most likely looking date on the head with a club and drag them out.

My dad was widowed and married a woman 11 years his junior. The age thing was never a problem, she was just a twit.

Go for someone you enjoy being with even if your kids don't like her.

Best.

I just discovered I have a mouse in my house. Seriously, I watched it run across the ledge of my kitchen countertop as I ordered in pizza!

So yeah, dating sucks but loading a mouse trap with peanut butter is worse.

keep meeting the wrong men!!!!!
I'm with ya Pepper on both counts about getting men to talk and getting advice from tt'rs.

I tell ya. Has anyone or a better question. A show of hands for whomever has tried the on-line personals. Here's one! I get too darn impatient when I keep getting the wrong men replying to my profile. I ask for an outdoors guy and get guys who just like to go to movies and festivals! What's up with that! Aaaahhhhh! So, I deleted my profile only after 4 weeks! I'll go the old fashioned route......again.

Dating does not always suck
I'm going on a date this weekend and its gonna be fun! with a capital X.. oops.... make that F.
I have a list of credentials for dating that I've had since highschool and it worked out pretty good.

I think one of the best ploys for getting dates was when I took Bachelor Living in my Senior Year. Accident? I think not. 18 guys to 2 girls in the class. Me and my bestfriend! ha! We had a different date each week. Used to hide under the dining room table in the Home-Ec Dept. and listen to what the dudes were saying about us!
I miss that girl! She is the only one I knew who really understood the concepts. I bet Skullcap, Mapleleaf, Gemini and Lyra would though.
Its hard to find girlfriends who jive that well with ya. We had signals to get rid of guys we didn't like. We knew how to exploit the weight room. Great place to get some sneak peaks at buffness. Also knew the fine art of how to sweetly help out the Head coach by doing inventory in the boys locker room. Loved to go in there unexpectedly and have them guys shrieking like little girls and running for cover.

BB's Top Ten Backpacking Pick Up Lines
1. I have baggage, you look like a flight attendant, we should travel.

2. Nice boots. They would look real nice outside my tent in the morning.

3. I should warn you, I like climbing mountains, and it looks like you have some challanging altititudes there.

4. Nice a$$, I may need my crampons for that difficult slope.

5. (for redheads only) How bout' another log on that fire?

6. Is that thong wicking, or are the shadows from the trees playing tricks on me?

7. I'll filter your water, if you filter mine.

8. Uh, ohhhh, it looks like there is some peanut butter on my chest, it's time for you to face up to the LNT challange!

Twinkle Toes
Gave up on the peanut butter & snap traps when I lived in student housing and one mouse got only halfway caught and dragged itself into the stereo speaker wires. And was still alive when I tried to cut the trap out of the speaker wires. Went to the sticky traps after that. Then I moved out and so far, none has followed me!

(Knock on wood.)

Gotta use the right traps.

I prefer "VICTOR" brand mouse traps, the kind with the plastic bait tray that looks like a block of cheese.

After being baited, set, and placed, you can use a pencil or a stick, tap the bait tray until it's just about to go...kinda like a hair trigger on a gun. The trap snaps as soon as the little bastard's whiskers touch the bait, and it's all over in a flash for Mr. Mouse.

Do your murine pests a favor, use "VICTOR"!

I used to love single life. Never had a boring moment.
I remember when someone called, and I answered the phone. He asked for me and I said "no she is not here". LOL Yeah Dana, I totally understand

Not sure if I want to be single now days though. I think I timed it pretty good.

Ewker - A good rule of thumb is if they are at an age where you could be their daddy, they are too young for you to date.
Women closer to our own age (but I'm so much younger than you, old fart) that backpack are rair but worth waiting for.
There are several fine women close to our ages here on TT.
Keep the hope alive.
