Frames are scary.

What are his hobbies?

Tickets to a sporting event that you think you can stand? For after Christmas, of course.

I'm taking him to a Notre Dame hockey game this weekend on free tickets. One of the ND coaches is married to one of my college friends. I'm a hell of a girlfriend, huh? It helps that I love college hockey, and I get to see an old friend and gossip.

So, no pictuer frame, Dhutch? Hobbies were included above. I had one of his friends investigate what he wanted for his bike, but he doens't want anything.

SG - you gots a tough one there. 4 months, it's kinda hard to buy fer. You could always break up with him then start dating him again after the holidays (I really had a friend that would do that....) :)

Check Sierra Trading Post. Sometimes they've got cool helmets and cycle gear. How about a day trip to the spa? 50 dollar gift cert to Hooters? Pair of Wings tickets? How about a day pack (give'em a hint?) Kick in the ass? :)

This isn't really about dating, or at least not ME dating, but...

A couple of weeks ago, I was sitting at the bar with a friend. In walks another friend with her boyfriend, whom I had never met. She met him through some Internet personal ad and they seem to be having a very good relationship. They sat down next to me. She (I'll call her P) introduced us, we made small talk, he (I'll call him R) looked bored.

P and I were chatting and somehow fishing and hunting came up, and R joined in the conversation. We all laughed and talked (about fishing mostly) for a while, had a couple beers. P isn't really into it, but we thought it would be fun if we all went smelting on the river this winter. R asked for my e-mail address so we could plan it, but I didn't give it to him.

I went away for a few days, then there was the holiday, etc, so back at work on Monday I e-mailed P about how nice it was to meet R, he seemed like a nice guy, that I was happy for her. Her reply was short as were subsequent e-mails. I didn't ask why via e-mail, but we made plans to meet tonight at Margartitaville which we sometimes do. I figured she'd tell me what was wrong then.

But later, I get this e-mail from her:

"So Missy my Friend,

What did you really think of R?

He really liked the idea that you were into ice fishing. Impressed him. He is looking forward to getting together with you this winter as the river freezes."

WTF?? I think I know what's wrong now! Which upsets me for a number of reasons, but I thought I could laugh about it here...bets on how many Margaritas it'll take to get thru this evening?
=D

I'm not sure I'd have to give him a big hint to go hiking. I think he'd be up for it. But I may give some thought to the day pack.

Keep the ideas coming....

Twig ---- YOU DID NOTHING WRONG. What is not meant to be is not meant to be. No matter how much one person likes the other.

Smiley -- check out Nashbar.com for bike stuff. What about an indoor trainer thing (like I want, hint hint Santa) for his bike. ....Or you can never go wrong with a headlamp!

Smiley G - well go with the frame, as long as you buy him lots of other stuff too. If he's the type of guy who likes a picture frame then you should be dumping him right now ;o)
So he's a scientist - think gadgety stuff .... boys like toys you know.

Twiggy - Situations like that often make you feel like you're in the middle. It's no fun. Are you considering asking her front on about it? That usually works best. Clearing the air early is often good, otherwise you end up with some L.A.-type smog.

Stovestomper is right.. it's a rare occurance when a chick likes stuff like that.

Best of luck, Twiggie. I know you already know, but just be sensitive to her feelings about it if she thinks you're stealing her man, which of course you're not. The mind tends to play funny tricks on people sometimes.

You ladies underestimate the power of a woman that can talk about stuff guys like to talk about.
He will start thinking of you like a friend rather than 'just' a sex object.
That combination of friend and lover is very rare and something he will want to hold on to.

Twiggy... hmmm... geez. Just be YOU! And don't worry about it. Yeah, it can be tough with a friend. And, as has been mentioned, if it's meant to be (for her) it will be, if not, then so be it.

Another question: Is she a bunny boiler, too? Do you have bunnies?? LOL

And a rotten #&%!$ besides! =D

Just being me is what GOT me in trouble, LOL...

No bunny boiler there, she and I are about as opposite as can be - she takes great care with her appearance - colors her hair, does her nails, wears makeup and very nice clothes. I hack at my own hair, bite my nails and throw on the least wrinkled thing that I can find off the floor. She's drives a huge gold SUV with all the bells and whistles (even heated seats) in winter and a white mustang convertable in summer. I drive the fugowe-mobile. etc...

She's a large woman, but very attractive and men are always approaching her. I just don't like the idea that she might believe I would be after her fella.

Smiley - It doesn't matter what you get him, if your gift is sincere, and the guy isn't a tool, it shouldn't matter.

Twigeater - Sounds like you are dealing with one of the 80% of women out there....one dimensional. Don't sweat it, if you take her man, and she dislikes you, or if you don't take her man and she dislikes you, it sounds like you win either way.
