You read my mind. I already tried though, and it didn't work.” 2:23:32 PM 2/04/04 “Bring the new gal with you to Ocala. Unless of course you are afraid of Nowslimmer's raw unbridled animal magnatism.” 2:28:04 PM 2/04/04 “For that very reason, both will stay in Tampa.” 2:33:47 PM 2/04/04 “LOL!” 2:40:18 PM 2/04/04 Ouch! “I'm always on my good behavior. I can't help it if they get excited when they see my medical alert bracelet that says, "Viagra User."” 2:43:40 PM 2/04/04 “Don't volleyball players have big butts??? Sorry, I'm being catty today, the girl I"m having problems with at work is a volleyball player, and has a rather large a$$, and I truly, truly cannot stand working with her. :)” 2:59:59 PM 2/04/04 “Not the one I'm going out with, that's for sure. One word: TIGHT.” 3:01:48 PM 2/04/04 “Have you ever seen Gabrielle Reese? I wouldn't tell her she had a large butt!!!” 3:02:16 PM 2/04/04 “Ha! A big target should be easy to kick.” 3:02:27 PM 2/04/04 “Excellent, NS! Now if I can just get the company's permission.... But back to dating.... Since I didn't buy my boyfriend the Holy Grail DVD for Christmas, do you think its an appropriate gift for V-Day? I mean, is it romantic and all? ;)” 3:10:05 PM 2/04/04 “Oh yah, it's the most romantic movie ever! Especially the Castle Anthrax scene!” 3:11:24 PM 2/04/04 “Bit, thanks, you've been so supportive today!!” 3:16:07 PM 2/04/04 “You're welcome! I watched that movie with my wife the other night.” 3:18:04 PM 2/04/04 “I saw Holy Grail two weeks ago. Spank me, Smiley girl, spank me. Artex. Remember. wise man say: A hand in the bush is worth two in the bird.” 3:31:46 PM 2/04/04 this thread goes through... “metamorphisis of dumb and dumber, then smart, but is mostly of the dumb and dumber status...silly. I don't get it.” 3:33:04 PM 2/04/04 “lee - you're one sick puppy! sikmon - eat it!” 3:46:19 PM 2/04/04 “I remember the days of dating more than one person at a time - these days I'm lucky to have one person at a time to date.” 3:49:21 PM 2/04/04 “"div, have you told your kids to stuff it yet? lol...." bitpusher 08:35:29 AM 02/04/04 LOL......actually I told them I would date 35-?????? They have accused me of robbing the cradle AND robbing the casket..... they just hate the thought of me dating.... lol..you should see them when I talk about SEX......LOL....” 3:56:52 PM 2/04/04 “Do they close their eyes, put their fingers in their ears, stomp their feet, and say "la la la la la la la la la la la la"?” 3:57:53 PM 2/04/04 Dating Two People at the Same Time “Alright, I can see how this could be very stressful. I would say I'm only officially dating Girl A (the one I went on the date with that will be televised), since we've been out twice now with a third date in the works (that meets my criteria for the definition). Girl B I wouldn't say I'm officially dating yet, though that's expected to change soon. Just looking ahead, this is already becoming a juggling act. Then again, I'm a lucky sunuvabizitch to even be in this position, especially after going through a dating drought. Ain't life grand? :-)” 6:51:21 PM 2/04/04 Yep! “(Nods his head while softly singing the words of My Old Flame!)” 7:15:50 PM 2/04/04 “Nowslimmer.....hugs are great aren't they????? Bit........almost.......” 7:37:22 PM 2/04/04 “divinity - You know it, doll. I can't wait to exchange some with you.” 7:44:39 PM 2/04/04 “I am sad I can't be there this weekend....” 7:50:14 PM 2/04/04 “Backing up to what Ewker said, earlier....I like his take on the situation...I am frequently shocked when I discover people who I thought were way older than me, to be the same age or younger. 'Bout fell off my chair the other day when reading something that referred to mid-40's as middle age, how could that possibly be happening to me. It is so difficult to find others my own age to "go out and play" with. Drove around with sleds in my trunk this week in search of a hill with snow....” 8:11:36 PM 2/04/04 “Middle age crisis? I couldn't believe the woman staring back at me in the mirror this morning was myself!! If I could afford to buy a car, I'd run out and get a convertible. Instead, I'm going to get a CDL. I think my new career will be a beer truck driver!” 8:19:46 PM 2/04/04 “Good luck Artex. At some point, you'll have to make some cuts, and find yourself a starter.” 8:33:17 PM 2/04/04 “aaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrgggghhhhhhhhhh. Okay, I'm okay now. Just needed to get that out. ssscccrrreeeeeeeeeeeeaaaaammmmmm. whew. I can't even verbalize this freakin' frustration. Where are all the good guys??” 1:49:56 AM 2/05/04 “What's the problem trtr?” 1:55:37 AM 2/05/04 “oh Lord! I just need to stop dating younger men that don't have a CLUE on how to, well, be a man. I mean they are fun and active and all, but when it comes to anything cerebral- even as small as having a conversation about "us"- it's impossible to understand eachother.” 2:01:02 AM 2/05/04 “do you think that is totally an "age" thing? Most of us are pretty dense in that department :)” 2:03:03 AM 2/05/04 “But I've heard from some others that the "boy toy' thing has it's drawbacks. One woman in our hiking club here was dating a considerably younger guy, and I heard some such stories.” 2:06:02 AM 2/05/04 “No maybe it's not an age thing, but I like having hope, so I didn't want to label EVERY man like that. ; ) I know there will always be that male/female "thing" that we will never REALLY get the other, but at least most of us try, and we do make progress in little steps understanding eachother...but this guy - aaarrrghhh. Great person but , well, I think time and experience will help him. I hope, anyway.” 2:09:22 AM 2/05/04 “yeah, boytoy stuff not always what it's cracked up to be. Not lacking in fun, though. But forget anything close to serious!” 2:13:01 AM 2/05/04 “I think we (men and women) grow more tolerant and understanding as we get older. I feel I have, and women I know seem to be, or maybe I'm hanging out with better women lately. ; )” 2:17:56 AM 2/05/04 “yes, I agree. Just hard to find older single men that have the activity level to backpack, hike, etc. Most of 'em are married. I guess I waited too long!” 2:20:59 AM 2/05/04 “I see where you're coming from trltkr. Hey--Cindylu found a nice man who will hike with her. He wasn't a hiker but she is teaching him and he loves it. Perhaps you might be able to find a fellow like that? I suppose he would need to be reasonably athletic to begin with though.” 4:04:51 AM 2/05/04 “trailtrekker, I didn't get into hiking until I was in my late 30's, so there's still hope for you. There's probably plenty of single guys your age who can be successfully converted to hikers. You might try going to a gym and finding some guy who's really trying to get into shape and suggest going on a hike...” 8:26:20 AM 2/05/04 “Our mutual choice passion for the outdoors is somewhat limiting. In this day of couch spuds and epidemic obesity, I find very limited interest from the other gender when I tell them my main recreational interest is strapping 40 pounds on my back and spending several days in the wilderness without benefit of basic facilities. Or that my idea of "hike" means something like rim-rim rather than the walk between Sears and Robinsons-May at the mall. It's either that or this oversized proboscus (sp?) in the middle of my face. : )” 8:31:48 AM 2/05/04 “What is most important___finding a companion or finding a companion-hiker?” 8:38:59 AM 2/05/04 “Hooking up with a guy who doesn't hike, hoping to get him to hike? Does that fall in the category of "trying to get someone to change for you?" maybe not but... ...it's too risky. What if you like him, but he tries hiking and doesn't like it. Soon you'll be asking if he minds if you go hiking and before ya know it, your gear will be on ebay. It's a slippery slope. Or what if he seemed agreeable to hiking until he hooked ya, then confessed he really didn't like it at all...nope, toooooo risky... :)” 8:39:43 AM 2/05/04 “Of course, if you can't find a companion who's into hiking, the next best thing is finding a companion who doesn't mind if you go hiking...it's better than nothing, after all. That trail is fraught with danger as well, but not impassable...” 8:42:07 AM 2/05/04 “"better than nothing" ??? not really... what's the point of having a relationship with a person you'll never see? fighting for outdoor time doesn't sound like fun to me.” 8:53:05 AM 2/05/04 “Answering Nowslimmer's question: For me, it would now have to be a companion-hiker. I've dated both kinds, and while I like my solitary trips, I'd want to be with a girl who shares the same desire to see what's over the next ridge instead of one who questions my sanity for heading out. I get enough of that from coworkers and family. :)” 8:59:33 AM 2/05/04 “Well, forgive me for being happy with my relationship then.” 8:59:48 AM 2/05/04 “A girl who let me go on my own would be the next best thing, if I found one. So, for those who's significant others don't hike, is it hard to find/make time for hiking or backpacking?” 9:10:46 AM 2/05/04 “My problem isn't with my wife, it's the fact that I have small children. They're more of an impediment than anything else. I'd go out every weekend, but I'd feel bad leaving my wife alone with them every weekend, not to mention the fact that they'd miss their dad, lol...” 9:13:35 AM 2/05/04 “Feel a little better after a little sleep. Thanks for the input everybody. I do belong to a gym and go 4 -5 nights a week. Also belong to very active hikihg club, so it's not like I'm not getting out there. I haven't been really LOOKING, but I pay attention, if ya know what I mean. Yeah , I don't want to fight for time on the trail, but I have seen couples that manage just fine with that- WLD and wife JD, Snow Nymph and Snow Dude- are just a few examples. (although both spouses get out with mate occasionally). So , it can work, but the ideal guy would be a backpacker, for obvious reasons. Twig- I hope my gear never makes it to e bay! ;-) NS- maybe I am asking too much, but really want a lover that hikes. I have hiking companions at Socalhikers and they are all wonderful. Bit - thanks for the hope and look out all you guys at the gym tonight. hahahahahaha!!!” 9:14:33 AM 2/05/04 “As soft as I am around my surrogate children (friends' kids), I don't know if I could leave my own. My friends' kiddies get whatever they want from me so I don't think I could leave if my own kids asked me to stay. :)” 9:21:46 AM 2/05/04 Jump to Page << prev
