And speaking of...
What exactly do you think the North Face people had in mind when they drew this diagram of how to position sleepers in the North Face Trailhead 8?

He's lucky and so am I!!!

Reaching that comfort level, the emotional intimacy, is when the relationship is the best.

But if you go into dating just looking to get laid or just because you aren't comfortable being alone, you'll rarely attain that. And then after the newness of the sex with someone new wears off, one or the other of you will get tired of the other and the games begin and dating sucks again.

I agree w/ what Wing said. It's embarrassing even to fart in the bathroom if someone "new" is there, course I'm past that with bachelor #1.

You think farting is mushy? It can be amusing. The mushy ones are really bad. Mtnmom, my wife never passed gas the first year we were together. Lately, she has been making up for lost opportunities. Is it a true sign of togetherness when you fart with impunity>

Hey, I'm learning to fluff for the right reasons now!

My friend ( a GF) says it's better to let it out than keep it bottled up. Could cause problems! I just try to be discreet about it. My kids try to amplify it and the ex just didn't care. He'd save it for bedtime. Which sometimes you can't help but, gee whiz, need I say more?

well, I had said that I wouldn't be posting on this thread for a while but it looks like I have a date in the morning.

She is driving over to my place. We will go get some coffee and breakfast next door. After that we are headed to Radnor Lake to hike the trails there.

Reminds me of one of my favorite jokes:

Eagle

What bird signifies peace?

Dove

What is the bird of Thanksgiving?

Turkey

What is the bird of wisdom?

Owl

And what is the bird of love?

I have never had a bad date. I may not have wanted another date with the person, but I have always enjoyed myself, dining or dancing or talking. Even if you don't want to see the person again, why not make the best of the evening?

Ewker, so were you nervous as hell on this date? I used to get nervous even when there wasn't much time between each new (person)date.

Sometimes both people are nervous. Sometimes one person will mention that, and the other person admits they were nervous too.

lipstick hiker, I was very nervous. I found out she was to so for some reason that relaxed both of us.

It was a simple get to know you date. Have coffee and chat. Then drove to the lake to hike. Of course I drove right past it talking to her. At least she didn't notice I missed the turn till later on...lol

What's That Song....?
...keep your shifty eyes on the road. Keep your hands on the wheel.

Some girl band sang it in the 60's.

Could be "Me and Johnny Kissing In The Backseat".

Yeah that would have to go on the "marriage sucks" thread...LOL

I got the ole' "We need some time apart" speech... I also think there was a break up in there, but I'm not sure.
I have just been enjoying/relaxing/catching up during the "time apart". It has been nice not dealing with all the BS...
Funny how it gets easier each time. I think that is not a very good sign....haha

lol. Yeah...another one bites the dust. I'm competing for break-up queen here. Either they can't keep up, live too far away, won the geek of the year award, are too young, have kids that are too young.....

I don't believe that dating sucks but as in anything else, it's a learning process. I just don't seem to be passing the test. Probably because I'm so busy outside and not studying. :-)

I had a date on Saturday. Enjoyed myself, actually. We put down subfloor and started laying down the oak flooring in his apartment (I got to do the running for the different lengths of wood ('I need one 53" long...for this end); vaccinated his horse for west nile; had mule deer steak for supper. It was nice!

Sunday I got to put in fence posts by myself. hmmmm, maybe I should let this guy know I need my fencing done by next weekend. His floor can wait a few more days (he doesn't have to move into his apartment until fall) Maybe he'll help then.

Sounds like some good bonding work.

When my dad first met my step mom he took her to our cabin in the mountains and made her walk thru the woods and stuff to see if she would complain as a test.
They where married for 30+ years til the day he passed.

So YES asks him to help ya, see if he will help you with your fence.

My GF/XGF is all take and no give.
It has to be a two way street.
If each person is not happy to help and/or be there for each other it causes annomisity (sp?).
Myself, I love to do things for whoever my significant other is.

So put him to the test and see if he will help you with that fence.

lol @ snafu. Be careful what you wish for. I might be more wicked than cool. ;-) Ask any of my XBF's

I don't believe in putting people to the test. It smacks of "playing games" and doesn't sound very "giving" more like "see what's in it for me"

Mtnmom - If you do not ask, you will not receive.

I think you definately need to give 'em the "outdoor test", that is the essence of your BEING. You can do that without game playing because it is Who you are!
