Dating sucks

“I'm sorry Biz, but WHERE did I say that? What is that stuff that prevents alzheimers? I think I need some!

It is not okay to find someone else before you dump the first spouse. All I meant was maybe she had some unknown reasons that would mitigate the harshness I feel towards her right now.”

“Yeah, Lyndy, folks aren't usually finding boyfriend/girlfriends because of an abuse situation. You try to work things out, then leave if they can't be, and THEN find another person.”

“I was attached to the local hospital unit in the Army Reserves (what a tough duty station for a JAG officer). After my first weekend drill, I didn't want a girlfriend at "home". The pickings were better on drill weekends. By the time we got to Panama for summer drill, nobody cared who was at home. I should have stayed in the Reserve.”

“My cousin married a guy who did not want to have kids. She knew that going in, but thought "he'd change." Well, guess what, when she wanted kids, he still didn't. They got divorced, and she's got two kids by her boyfriend, who I'm sure was in the picture before the divorce.

I joined the Navy right out of high school, and went into boot camp in Great Lakes, Illinois. When I got there, they "buddied" us up with someone else based on height. The guy I got partnered with was named Sweeney (don't remember the first name, or if I ever even heard the first name).
He was stockier than any of the rest of us and a little older.

In the beginning of boot camp (called your preliminary days), you don't really get to sleep the first night, and very little the second. They like you nice and tired. You also don't know who your drill instructor/company commander will be before the third day. You're just marching all over the pace, getting fitted for uniforms, getting your head shaved, getting yelled at, getting chow, etc. The guys who lead you in the first days aren't the ones who push you through the rest of camp. We got to meet our CC on the third day.

His name was Petty Officer Galvada. The was about 5'6", and all mouth. We were in our new digs - the barracks we would stay in for the rest of basic - and very, very tired. Galvada introduced himself by walking up one side of the barracks, telling at each one of us individually, with a special insult (usually based on something that rhymed with the name of the victim - he wasn't a mental giant either). Sweeney was to my left, and we were halfway up the second side of the barracks to meet our new leader.

We were at attention, facing forward, with that oh-so-stiff unmovingness that was required. When he got to Sweeney, and I was next, I became even more rigid. Wondering what my insult would be, what question he would ask me...

Well, he asked Sweeney (don't know what he was trying to prove, other than he could pick on the biggest guy in the place with impunity) if Sweeney had a girlfriend.
"Yes SIR!"
"You gonna find her like you left her when you go home?"
"Yes sir..."
"Freshly F...ed?!?"

There was a pause of about a second and a half before I heard a sound a lot like a slap with a little bass to it, and the CC sort of sprawled in the middle of the barracks linoleum, all legs and elbows. The he lay there, kind of twitching.

Most of us were still standing at attention. I got brave enough after a couple of seconds to turn my head to look at Sweeney. He was just standing there, kind of like he was concentrating, his brow furrowed.

Eventually, someone left to get the CC from the next barracks, whom we could hear yelling.

Galvada opened his eyes, and looked blearily up at Sweeney who never moved until the other CC took him out the door - gently - by the arm. Galvada stood up about 20 seconds after that, stumbled, sat down, got up and walked out.

We never saw him after that, and got a new CC the next day. We never heard what happened to Sweeney.”

“Maybe Sweeney's a Seal now.”

“Hey pathman, a friend just called me and told me the CIO at Lovelace just resigned.”

“That Sweeney story seems familiar. Are you sure that they didn't make a movie that was similar? With Bill Murray and Harold Ramis? Not playing Sweeney, of course.”

I can assure you that the story is true. I still remember the sort of stunned disbelief combined with that sleep-deprived haze that I had going. It prbably wasn't until I told my best friend after I got home that I realized how funny it was, though.”

I know you didn't like going on your own, but there are organized trips which can last for months and will offer some companinionship while going to some amazing places.

These guys are quite expensive, but they are one of the few that offer stuff to South America (somewhat safer than other places right now) - but there are trips all over the world. You could also look at New Zealand. There are lots of hostels and stuff there - and you get meet people on your travels - travel doesn't have to be about lonliness.”

There she was and her eyes gathered the light and reflected back the magic in the moment, like two diamonds dancing on pools of sheer white ice.

Her breath was warm as she walked up to me and whispered in my ear and her hand shaky as she held on to my arm.

For the life of me, I don`t know what she was saying, my heart stopped, my breathing quit and I becam tongue tied, when she whispered in my ear and I went deaf and all I could think to do was trun my head to look at her, but in doing so our lips brushed and a flush of red kissed her cheeks as I went pale white.

both of us shaking now and unsteady on our feet and only a whisper`s breath away for hungry lips we just kinda fell into oneanother and kissed.

That first sensation of her pouty red lips sent shivers through me and I woulda fainted then and there, but her daring tongue brought me back to life, that, or her warm breath rushing down my throat, the way it was doing.

I pulled her to me and she hels me tight as my lips trailed down her lovely throat and my lips plyed soft tender kisses, one after the other to her neck and my lips picked up her silky flesh and my tounge darted out to taste her skin and I tasted the mixture of her body, mixed with that of her perfume and the scent of her hair.

Slowly, but surely my lips fould her shoulder and I lavashed it with kisses and still my lips found her neck and I made my way `round to her back and lifted her hair and kissed the nape of her neck.

I don`t know if that`s what it was, or my warm breath, or wet tongue, soft lips, or when it all caused me to growl against her flesh that caused it, but the tiny hairs on the back of her neck stood out and tickled my nose and face and it sent shivers coursing through her body.

Chillbumps formed and spread out over her neck and as fast as I could and as many as I could my lips and tongue chased them as they spread out over her neck and shoulders before they cascaded down and spread out, flowing down her lovely back.

At the same time they swirled `round her neck and streamed down and over her chest, causing her to moan out through clenched teeth.:)
