Maybe but perhaps you would indicate that there were problems in the relationship? Seems everything is discussed here.

LOL...I remember a TTer posting his shock at getting served divorce papers. Not that it was funny in any way, but some of us could see it coming.

I thought about you Y2 when I read that. Maybe you should.

BTW, what does your name mean or where did it come from? I have always been curious about that.

Probably the first indication that people on TT would of my single-ness (which hopefully won't ever happen) would be a bunch of ladies getting date requests in their inboxes, lol...

And how do you pronounce it?
Ruby

It's the god of the river zambezi. Had it as an aol address after a rafting trip there. There's a cool story about him sending down floods to smash the Kariba Dam. I signed up on here meaning to make one post, so I used it. Then I guess I've sorta hung around ;o) Y2 is much easier.

Hey, Bit, I hope it never happens to you either.

Marriage is supposed to be forever. It's depressing when you find you don't have the courage to put up with some kinds of sh#t forever.

Actually I've got a date tomorrow. Going to trendy restaurant. Cafe Atlantico, Bearmagnet may know it.
Just looked at the prices.... sigh ... oh well, I'm not really this tight ladies, honestly ;o)

pixie - Please excuse dhutch's comment. I guess I'm not supposed to welcome a newcomer to TT but I will anyway.
Are you hooked up with aussie? She lives in Seattle and is one he11 of a hiker. I had the pleasure of hiking with her in the Rocky Mountains last year.
Welcome to TT and have fun!

How do you guys think about relationship? I feel dating is fun, but relationship is suck, specially when you have to deal with someone who can't get rid of the past yet.

You certainly have good taste. I love a good restaurant where the chef is innovative and creative and has put together a good menu. I am thankful that I love so close to Chicago to be able to take advantage of those sorts of places.

But I also love campfire cooking. :)

And Ruby, when did you become Ruby? I've asked that on at least two other threads, to no avail.

Same to dhutch regarding SS's hello greeting to pixie. Everything just kinda stopped there as a new female presence was noted. LOLOLOL!!

Hey, but everyone has baggage. I know I do. Sometimes you just gotto give it time and maybe they'll forget their past love and move on to you.
Of course they may also go off and cheat on you with an ex ;o) Or decide that no one can compare to the guy who walked out on her nine years ago and subsequently just wants to be friends.
Bitter..... noooo, not me.

Sorry Lizs.

'twas a couple months ago I think. vicsaw is just a combination of my first and last name, too boring. I was too impatient to wait around for someone to annoint me with a trail name, so I named myself. Ruby is just an old-fashioned name I have always admired, and since I likely won't have any more children and no chance of having a daughter, I used it.

Well I don't know. You have to start somewhere. It really depends on how it affects their relationship with the new person. It can be something in the background that gradually fades with the help of finding someone new. Or it can be something that's always casting a shadow. It really depends on the people involved.
I mean the alternative is dating relationship virgins, and who wants to go there?

As long as the baggage can fit under their seat, that's good enough for me. When they are lugging around trunks, I get worried.
Ruby

true.
But I had a boyfriend who assumed things about me based on his past experiences with other women. That's wrong.

Twig,
I drive me nutz when somebody "ass-u-mes" too!
My XGF used to finish sentences for me before I would finish and assumed what I was going to say. 90% of the time she was wrong. Smoke would pour out my ears instantly.

I dunno Ewker, I think recognizing patterns or behaviours is one thing, but assuming all women or all men are going to react or behave the same way is wrong.
