Mine is 50 miles away. It's a sorry excuse for a REI with hardly anything in stock at the best of times so I doubt there'll be much to return.

I have the REI credit card, so I just charge everything and get 1%. It adds up.... I got $208 back last year. REI doesn't have the toys I want right now. Looking for a ice axe and a altimeter watch.

Hey wait! backup! rewind! Artex, where is this REI that is near Campmor? The closest REI listed on the website is Philly. I thought that you were in Jersey too. Did you move north or something?

Artex has REI and EMS confused. EMS is next to Campmor. We have no REIs in New Jersey. It’s just not right.

I'm going to REI tonight. I am ashamed to say I spent my dividend check this year on a bicycle pump, but I have way too much camping gear anyway.

I'm returning the mountaineering gloves I got since I got the snowboarding gloves. I thought I could use them for snowboarding, but the board would cut them up pretty quick.

Has anyone used Mountaineering gloves? I'm wondering if I should keep them for rain or snow. I haven't had to use them yet, but my gloves have gotten wet in the rain. I usually carry 2 prs capilene gloves and a pr of wind gloves. These are heavier, but would stay dry.

SN: Are do a bunch of fakie air grabs or sumtin? :) I use my overmits for both mountaineering and snowboarding. They're some EMS shells that have a wicking liner but no insulation. You really need a waterproof glove for mtneering IMO. I know the Mountaineers say mittens are prefered b/c it's hard to get a mangled hand into a glove (should that happen).

These are Mountain Hardware gloves, made for mountaineering, but they looked good enough for snowboarding. I asked what the difference was, and the guy told me snowboarding gloves have a tougher palm to handle the sharp edges of the board. I haven't used them yet, because I wasn't sure (plus they fit, normally the fingers are too long) They look like the Burtons, but go over the sleeves. I could probably use the Burtons for backpacking. They're XXS, plus less material. I'll have to weigh them.

REI's Anniversary Sale is May 6 - 15. 20% off lots of their stuff. When I was there a week and a half ago and spent over $250, the clerk told me if I came back during the sale with my receipt, they would discount everything I bought that day the 20% and give me a refund. So FYI to you all.

With the credit I will receive as a result of that along with a return and along with the 20% off sale, I will be able to buy a new Yakima 4-bike hitch-mount rack for very little additional outlay. Wahoo!!!!!

I think my wife inadvertantly tossed the REI flier containing the 20% off coupon. Does anyone know if I actually NEED the coupon, or will they honor the 20% off one item with just my membership card..?

I don't think that you need the coupon- I know they use a code which is printed on the coupon, I glanced at it lastnight- but don't remember exactly what it was. mbr25 or something like that.

They will give you %20 off of one item (most expensive item) when you show them your card.

Anyone have experience with returns to REI?
I want to know if they would exchange and item without the receipt. The draw cord on the bottom of my MH windstopper fleece broke, and I want to get a new one. MH wants me to mail it to Ca, and they would fix it, but that would take weeks. I've heard some stories about a no questions asked retun policy, so do you think they would exchange it?
