Well? What are you waiting for???
This has GOT to be THE worst week I have had in a very long time. I've been turning over 70+ hour work weeks for the last 4 weeks and I have another 7 weeks to go. I do not think I will make it with out my head bursting. What is wrong with people nowadays? Pushy, mean, selfish, RUDE, overbearing.....

WTF???

I was dealing with the similiar, until I simply had enough, said f-it, and quit.

Now I have a job I love, and life is great!

It just takes two words to get it all in motion "I quit".

Hey guys! I'm just whining like a b!itch. Sorry. I like what I do, but the people I have to deal with and the amount of time I have to put in keeps me away too much from my #1 priority (no, not bping, but that's close!) my family. I miss them and I get bitter.

biz - I don't think you will ever, truly understand what perfect timing your post was. Thank you for the smile.

I've had a helluva week also....
So I picked out a new trail yesterday afternoon over lunch, packed my BP last night, and around noon today I AM OUTTA HERE! Anyone who wants to complain can pound sand, I'll be opn the trail.

Sounds like you need to do the same laqtis!

I really like my job too but the mountains are calling and I turned 30 this year! I don't want to waste all my good years sitting behind a desk.

I emailed my boss yesterday and he said 'when you get back we will decide what to do about you and your future.'

I almost fell out of my chair laughing. It is a job. This is my life.

Glad I made you smile Ü

Lyndy, I am shocked! (not)
It is in the Book Of Life, chapter one...(and I quote) "All lawyers are slimey". Chapter two states that when you want someone to move, you always refer to their ass or butt. Understand, now?

To the ocean!
Skline-to-Sea trail, thru Big Basin Redwoods SP down to Waddell beach. Originally was going to Slide Mtn with Tahoe, but the additional snow this week nixed that plan. I had already set my heart on getting out, so came up w this at the last minute.

Dunadan, I would say a trip to Kansas will probably happen this summer sometime as we implement our new services on the contract I just negotiated. Isn't there a "Grassland Trail??" (do I have that right) in KS? What are the hiking opportunities out there. It is a part of the country I have not spent much time in and would like to see more of.

Lyndy, you messin' with the flatlander here?
No, Chili, I don't know of a "Grassland Trail" but I don't know a lot about my home state. I could show you around the Flint Hills, which I think you would find interesting.
You are invited to a night of dining and ale at the Free State if you are ever near here. That goes for you too, Lyndy.

Seriously, if you are in this neck of the woods, I would be honored to take you out to a meal and your fill of ale at the Free State.

Thanks for the invite, Dunadan. If you, or you and your family are up this way, you also are invited for dining (and ale too, although I think microbreweries are a little scarce in this area).

Isn't that a horse trail too? I'm sure it would be a great hike, but the trail chatter would be something like this:

"Dammit I just stepped in horse $#!t again!"

"Me too! Ugh, dammit it stinks!"

"I think it's under my gaitors!"

"Aw crap, I set my pack down without looking and the end of my drinking hose fell in horse $#!t!"

j/k of course....

What a week!!!
The big boss is buying drinks TONIGHT for everyone who worked on a real politically- messy project we just completed. She said we'd better be show up because she dosen't want to be standing around alone in the bar waving bills in the air for drinks to a bunch of strangers. Just when I thought it couldn't get any better, someone leaked some sensitive information to certain organization and got himself canned!! WOW!!What a way to end the week!

Chili, I had to actually go to a job so I haven't kept up with the thread. I have been to the Cimmaron National Grasslands, and it is an awe inspiring place. The terrain is rough with small canyons and cactus, yucca, and the rare tree. You can hike it, but few people do. I have only taken one foray into it, and then only for three hours. It is quite brutal in the summer. There are some big surprises in that part of the country. There is a "badlands" or small canyon range that runs east-west right in the middle of the state. You can find many free-standing chalk formations there. There is a huge spring that fills the Scott County state lake which is also the site of the northernmost pueblo in the US. Some ruins are still there. This is fossil heaven, also. This terrain differs dramatically from where I live, which is clear across the state.

I am doing a major sofware upgrade this weekend. I set up a plan. I made a schedule. I Posted it. I followed up to make sure everyone stuck to the schedule. I have about 4 hours of work to do on Sunday.

Next week could be very bad for me. I did the upgrade for less than half of what the software vendor quoted. If it fails, I have failed.

If I succeed, I expect to see some extra bonus money at the end of the year. I love a free market economy.

The upgrade will work, the bonus is dependent upon economic conditions.

I have a plan for that also.
