You're lucky Pathman. The wife and I were able to get to the Interlochen area twice. We loved it both times. Can never forget the first sight of Eiger, Monch, and Jungfrau standing shoulder to shoulder!

We were in Mieringen last summer. Had such a good time and it was such a good deal we are going back. Our teens wanted to go on one final family vacation, the oldest is finishing HS. They backed, but we are going anyway.

Interlaken is cool. The "Eiger" outdoors store is there. The only t-shirt had pink print, couldn't make myself buy it.

One of the best days I had was when I rented a bike and rode from Meiringen to Interlaken and back.

I lived in Germany 8 years (4 years at a time/army brat), but was too young to appreciate it, and too drink.

All this talk about European goodies reminded me that I was supposed to find some Suchard chocolate for a friend. No luck yet with Suchard, but what the hell are these? LOL

Katzenzungen?

Hmmm....

I don't know about the German brand, but I won the Swiss version in a contest. It even had the kitty cat on the box.

That should have been,

The local take on it is "It's not just a good basin, it is a Great Basin." Shoot, there is even a Great Basin national park. It is out in the middle of Nevada. That means the desert.

In fact, Bitpusher, I have a bottle of the 18 year right here!

I save it for special occasions, though. I like you people and all, but uh...

Anyway, I got it for my birthday last year, and I've gone through about half of it. Wonderful stuff.

Now, BP, you're a man after my own heart.
I love Bourbon, scotch and irish whisky, in that order.

Maker's mark is good stuff, but I find Old Grand Dad to be equally good, and cheaper. If I'm going nuts, I buy Blanton's.
