Ticks
Heads up - Spent the weekend out at LBL....ticks are already out and blazing this year! Seems to be one of the worst places for ticks around the KY/TN area...contracted Lime Disease from there last year. Just want to let y'all know, if you are planning an excursion to the area, the ticks have awaken for the summer!

Never heard of the vaccine. Is it permanent or do you need yearly boosters? And is it widely available?

i was treated for it last year also. my doctor told me there are many uncertanties in the whole thing. tests for it sometimes show false positives and false negatives. he said the vaccine didn't always work either. this is just what was told to me by one doctor. lyndys had it before and i think it got into more advanced stages with her before it was determined to be lyme disease. she may have more detailed and accurate information on this subject.

Well duh, just answered my own question with a little internet searching. Seems the current lyme disease vaccine is being discontinued. There may still be some doses available in circulation, however.
