Crazy Mike: Know anything about Owasippe ?

“Hey, Crazy Mike!

I've heard about the Owasippe Boy Scout camp from a few people. It's supposedly a 5,000 acre Boy Scout camp near Whitehall that has 20 or 30 miles of trail. Apparently, nonscouters have been able to use it. I'm curious if you've ever hiked there?

“There is a one-time fee for mountain biking at Owasippe, which is allowed during the off-season (fall and spring). They used to allow payment per visit. When I spoke with them last year, I had the impression that they were considering putting an end to allowing mountain bikers use of the scout ranch due to abuse by some people. I have never heard of people backpacking and I do not know about day hiking. You could call - their numbers are: 231.894.4061 and 231.894.8710.”
