First aid kit
Did you buy one or make your own?
What's in yours?
Different kit for different trip lengths?

Duct tape, tylenol, a sterile wound pad, two snake bite kits and a bottle of lithium.

Bought a small kit which I've added more alcohol pads and bandaids to. I also have a separate drug bottle in which I keep different sorts of painkillers, imodium, sinus meds, etc. It's an optimist's first aid kit.

I have a bag of first aid stuff. I select the things I think I need from it depending on the conditions of the trip. What gets taken depends on the weather, season, destination, length of trip, and the people that are going.

lithium? Phaedrus that is not a good sign. Please stay on your meds and away from me.

Snow Nymph, isn't that stuff mostly shark oil? Seems like it would bring the bears out...

Hmm... Maybe I should add some of that to my first aid kit...

I could rub it on unruly hikers and they would go away.

I bought my first first first aid kit. I began to modify it after that. I have a mixture of emergency stuff (mostly for treating wounds) and stuff I have used often (like Ibuprofen and moleskin).

Some non-first aid items do double duty. For example, duct tape can be used for a lot of things (making splints, protecting wounds). I've also used iodine tablets (which back up my water filter) to make a concentrated solution for sterilizing wounds.

I bought a first aid kit, but I think its too bulky. I've started a separate kit with some of the things in the first, simply to reduce the bulk.

Phaedrus and bit bring up two valid points; maybe we could rub that stuff on a couple of unmentionable trolls and they would disappear or be eaten. Hmmmmm...
Y'all missed one invaluable item in your list of first-aid necessities-a SAM splint. It weighs next to nothing and you'll sure be glad to have it if you need it. For those of you who are semi-allergic to wasp stings, Adolph's made into a paste works well (no $hit, my doctor turned me on to that one).

LOL Aero!

(I think the folks who put water in them were just curious to see if the condoms could stretch.)

During the early days of detente and expanded trade with the US and the USSR, the KGB psy-ops decided to try to intimidate the US by ordering 5 million condoms to fit 14" long by 1 1/2 inch in diameter. The US intelligence forces were in an uproar when the order came. After the NSA pulled together a meeting with top psychological consultants... a decision was made. The order was filled and shipped in 1/2 million boxes, ten to a box, all labelled "medium."

Could it be that I'm the demented creation of your sane mind, which in your demented state you believe it to be, in which case I'm not really creation or demented, but merely sanity inverted?
