Golden, CO
I have to be in Golden next week up at the School of Mines. I'm looking for some nearby trails or bike paths that might get up into the foothills from there. Anybody there, or been there?

OK, let's try again. There's one that runs around Red Rocks amphitheatre/park at Morrison. There's a couple at Evergreen, but you'll have to drive a bit to get there. I've hiked the Elk Meadows one

Here are some Denver ones:

OK, so those are mountain bike trails, normally shared with hikers...heheh

what are you looking for? quick hike close to town, or a decent loop up in the hills a bit? will you have a car? the road between morrison and evergreen has a decent trail, lair of the bear park i think. being able to drive a bit will hook you up for sure - otherwise there's a sweet whitewater kayak park right in golden that has a trail by it that you could stroll, i think it might follow the river a ways out of town too so you could keep that as a last option. i'm an hour north of there, but have done a bit of hiking in the evergreen area so if you need any more info...

Thanks. I'm looking for some trails I can run, 8-10 miles, paved or not, that are fairly close to Golden; someplace I can get to in the early evenings. So far all these look pretty good!
