Memorial Day weekend plans?

“Saturday, WORK a shift for a friend who is in South Georgia

Sunday, WORK on a shift in an area that is very rural and has a high probability of fireworks related fires.

(when I was married) to part with some of the crap in the yard; it was a holiday for sure!”

“I'd like to go hiking, especially as I have been excused from work for a week now and will be untill tuesday...

but I can't :( I can barely walk to the mailbox as it is which sucks cause this is the only holiday I will have off this year from work. (rolls eyes)

Oh well...I guess there is always next eyar.”

“We have a group going in to the Desolation Wilderness. Still a lot of snow up there so we're camping a little lower at the Velmas and doing some day hikes from there. Not that we can't camp in the snow (we all do) but we're planning NOT to this weekend.”

“Cleaning house, scouting out a campsite for LBL trip, softball practice, laying stone on the front porch & planting flowers. I've spent three out of the last five weekends hiking with TT'ers!!! Time to do some work at the casa.”

“I am at Animazing badly dressed as a shinigami, but I carry around an apple so I get away with it. But its an awesome grim reaper costume. I scared the beejeebees out of the receptionist at the motel. My daughter is having a blast. Her freiend came to hang with us for the day and we we were a teensy bit late coming out to the lobby to meet her mom. She was surrounded by 'freaks' posing in anime costumes for 20 minutes :)... I am not sure she will ever let her daughter go anywhere with us again.”

“gonna be up early to drive out to my hometown to link up with some old friends for coffee a good old fashion small town parade and a stroll down memory lane.”

This is me in my cosplay (I guess it stands for costume play) I put on my grim reaper costume. My daughter gave me an apple and told me I was a shinigami from the manga, Death Note.

“Not a good weekend for us. My brother-in-law died of a brain tumor Wednesday, then my father-in-law died Saturday. My wife made the journey home yesterday and I follow today. Two family funerals to attend! They were both good guys and will be missed. I am happy that their suffering has ended.”

I am smoking a boston butt and a slab or ribs. To go with it I'm either sauteeing or grilling squash, zuchini, vidalia onion, portabella mushroom, and red bell pepper.”

On an up note, Desolation was excellent and surprisingly, lived up to its name. We saw a total of two people in the backcountry over a course of four days. Pretty awesome. trip report and pics to come.”

We'll be "camping" in the room above the venue at night (from what I hear, it's truly a "rustic" experience...LOL) and probably hanging out around the island in the daytime.
