<< Official Reminder >>
Your Ayn Rand Weekend has almost arrived! Yes! Ayn Rand: that author of such pith and vinegar... the philosph of not-so-recent hubbub!

She's baaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack:

Saturday evening: The Fountainhead. "An idealistic architect battles corrupt business interests and his love for a married woman. Gary Cooper, Patricia Neal, Raymond Massey. Directed by King Vidor. Black & White - 113 minutes."

According to Those Damn Commies at Turner it's a CULT classic, now, BOL.

Turner Classic Movies / May 11, 6 - 8 pm EDT

Sunday afternoon: C-SPAN's American Writers II

Total immersion: Ayn Rand for three solid hours. I can take it if you can.

C-SPAN / May 12, 3 - 6 pm EDT

(Will re-air Friday, May 17
8pm EDT)

Gary Cooper is great and the movie is pretty close to the book as I recall. I'll be there.

I just about OD'd two months ago!

Just thought I'd follow through with my threat to remind everyone when it was about to air on C-SPAN... Now You Know! <G>

hmmmm... DVD but no TV...

Sounds like someone who might watch movies via computer... but the buttered fingers on the keyboard, YUCK!

Yes, it was *supposed* to be 'philosoph', but you know how it goes. At least the links seem to work (thank G-d for small miracles).

Now what would Aunt Ayn have to say abou copying the fruits of the creative efforts of others without their permission?? (or the permission of those to whom they legitimately transferred ownership?)

Just be sure to rewind and watch all the commercials twice and they won't mind, <G>.

C-SPAN is a little trickier (no commercials). If the pangs of guilt become too great, you'll just have to cut them a checque. I believe the going rate for an installment of 'American Writers' is $19.95. Just be glad it's On Sale... last week it was $75!

Looks like Cousin Bill's episode will be replayed Friday night. I might have to spring for an actual copy of that one.

For those who don't know, the C-SPAN show is a live call-in affair. You can buzz in and harangue the Rand scholars half to death if you have a mind to. Too bad the call isn't toll free...

NOW I remember...

It was BIZ who started all that Bizness about Objectivist Thought.

Paybacks Are Heck!
