“My trail mix always differs depending on whats on my shelf... corn chips, wheat thins, chocolate morsels, honey/mustard pretzels, chocolate covered expresso beans, and Oreo cookies. Regardless, it always contains Oreo cookies...gotta have the Oreos!!!”

my faves are the boring old peanuts, m&ms, and raising. either that or dried fruit, soybeans and carob chips...mmm. just not any dried pineapple (because of a carsick story you don't want to hear).

i for one loooove honey mustard pretzles...and the best pretzles EVER (which of course they stopped making) were those butter-flavor Rold Gold. yum-o-rama!”

“Gardettos original recipe snack mix is one of my favorites. If I feel creative and/or energetic I'll mix my own trail mix of peanuts, M&M's, raisins and toffee chips.

Or just plain old mini Butterfingers.”

“I've found I just prefer a premixed variety. As of late, Costco has been revealing a nice fruit & nut mix as well as an asian cracker/nut mix of their own vintage.”

“I usually start with honey granola as a base (shut-up gordon) then add whatever looks good from the bins at the grocery... some variety of tropical mix with unsweetened coconut, mango, papaya, etc., then other dried fruit: cranberries, golden raisens, a few banana chips... a few huge cashews, sunflower seeds, pumpkin seeds and pine nuts.

THEN the CHOCOLATE, if it's not to warm outside: M&M's (plain And peanut) and those chocolate covered almonds if I can find 'em.

“Gardettos are the best! I keep the dried fruit separate from the Gardettos, because I don't like the salt and smoky flavor on the fruit. For fruit, I like to mix dried cranberries, strawberries, apples and banana chips. Then I add some to oatmeal at breakfast, also. I made the apple chips, banana chips and strawberry slices myself in the dehydrator and they were awesome! (thanks to tips from Om, Bpbaby and RichB). I think that I must be the only female who doesn't like chocolate in my trail mix.”

It's a heck of a story though. Stories like that make it easy to pick out the parents in a group though. The singles are the ones going "Ewwww!" and the parents are the ones just nodding their heads.”
