Cops: Cape Girardeau woman kills man who returned to rape her second time

She was home alone again Friday about 2:15 a.m. when Preyer broke the same basement window. The victim was awake watching television, when Preyer switched off the electricity to her house.

She tried to call 911, but couldn't because the power was off. She got a shotgun and waited as the man began banging on the basement door. She fired when Preyer came crashing through the door. When Preyer collapsed, the woman escaped and went to a neighbor's home, where she called police. Officers, who arrived within a minute, found a bleeding Preyer stumbling away from the house. He was taken to St. Francis Medical Center, where he died several hours later.

This is the same ship that was boarded by pirates last April. At that time, the captain of the ship was taken hostage and was held by pirates in a lifeboat for five days. The incident ended when US Navy SEAL snipers simultaneously killed all three pirates aboard the lifeboat in a nighttime action. This time, the pirates never got aboard the ship. What was the difference?

Guns.

These security crewman need to be sent to Guantanamo to be prosecuted by a military tribunal. No lawyers for them and no special things like habeus corpus or 5th amendment protection for them.
What they did was worse than 9/11! The pirates were probably Muslim and now they have been provoked to an unimaginable degree. We may expect another Fort Hood uprising because of this and that uprising will be completely justified! Think of the copycat school shootings that will occur! And the sudden outbreak of Roman Catholic preists molesting young boys.

What have these monsters wrought? (/liberal)

In all these years with this thread, I have not had anyone give me a reason why the NRA and gun advocates will not protect my 2nd amendment rights to own some serious arms, like anti-tank weapons, surface to air missles, nukes, etc. If my right to bear arms is absolutely not to be infringed, why are they so silent about my right to serious arms?

When Soviet tanks rolled into satellite nations, guns did not do much. If human eating Vistors move in, semi-automatics, even automatics, will not be enough. Why does the NRA draw the line where they do? Are they a bunch of crypto liberals?

Looking at page one of the thread, I am trying to remember what got me so po!d at thebackpacker (aka Spock). What had Spock done in May 2002? I remember s/he had been viciously attacked as being unpatriotic and anti-American after 9/11 and then resorted to nasty trollish behavior off and on for years and that I got T!d off at Spock from time to time. Spock got banned a few times and came back with a new name until finally fading away. Spock did take some good pics, though.

Nasty, vindictive posters seeking revenge on TTers is nothing new, but it has been getting worse over the past 5 years or so.

So tell me Snickers... err.. Stovie what has the NRA done to defend my right to own serious ars, like surface to air missles or tactical nukes?

Alternately, where in the second amendment does it say - our right to bear certain kinds of arms can not only be infringed, but negated?

Burglary suspect killed, Arlington homeowner arrested

ARLINGTON – An Arlington area man who called police to report a burglary Monday was jailed early today suspected of killing the suspected intruder.

“This case is unusual in that the original burglary victim has become our shooting suspect and the alleged burglary suspect has become our shooting victim,” Snohomish County sheriff's spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said this morning.

“Detectives do not have any information indicating the shooting suspect was acting in self defense,” she said.

The victim, a Snohomish County man, 25, has not been identified. He died of apparent gunshot wounds. The suspect, 38, is expected to go before a judge later today.

It all started Monday when a homeowner called 911 to report a break in at this home in the 22800 block of 37th Avenue NE near Arlington, Hover said.

The homeowner arrived home to see a man running out of the house. Inside, he noticed some of his wife's jewelry was missing, Hover said.

Sheriff's deputies searched the area and deployed a police dog but were unsuccessful in finding the burglar.

A few hours later, the homeowner again called 911 to report that the burglar returned to the area. Deputies found the homeowner in a field near his home.

He told them he was looking for the burglar, who he spotted in a ditch. He told them he yelled at the man, who then ran off across the field, Hover said.

Deputies were unable to find the burglar, Hover said.

On Wednesday morning a neighbor who lives in the same area as Monday's burglary called 911 to report finding a man's body in a creek bed in the 23400 block of 35th Avenue NE.

The dead man had jewelry in his pockets that belonged to the shooting suspect's wife.

During the death investigation, detectives learned that neighbors heard gunshots Monday just before the man called police the second time, Hover said.

A neighbor reported that the homeowner said he fired warning shots at the burglary suspect.

When detectives went to interview the homeowner Wednesday about the body, he told them he knew a body had been found, that he was a subject in the investigation and asked to speak with an attorney, Hover said.

The man was arrested and is being held in Snohomish County Jail pending this afternoon's scheduled bail hearing.

So breaking and entering and thieving could get you shot? Whodathunkit.

Hunting outside your property for a burglar and shooting him dead in a ditch could get you prison time? Whodathunkit.

Gun Control, Chicago-Style
The shameless hypocrisy of Windy City Democrat politicians

Nice article Stovie. The biggest anti-gun politicians in Chicago have 24 hour police protection who are armed. Nice they get to be protected.

Another Chicago fact is that well connected Chicagoans have their newly purchased firearms registered by back dating the registration to a year before the gun ban when into effect. Highly illegal and cost the police lieutenant her job when she back dated a gun registration for her son to a year before they even manufactured the gun.

You see, Chicago gun control is for regular people like you and me, not the city leaders and their friends. They know the best way to protect themselves is through a hand gun.
