Suspected burglar shot and killed

The Travis County Sheriff's Office is investigating a possible Castle Law case that left a suspected burglar dead.

It happened just after 5 p.m. Friday near the intersection of Cedar Ridge and Spanish Oak Trail, just north of Jonestown.

Investigators say 35-year Ryan Bradford of Austin broke in and was fighting with one of the homeowners. During the struggle, Bradford was shot.

Bradford was taken to UMC Brackenridge where he died.

Detectives don't expect to file charges at this time. They will present the case to the District Attorney's Office for review and presentation to the Grand Jury.

No wonder there are no jobs out side of the 'cops and robbers' biz. You paranoid peeps need to get control over yourselves before you worry about who's taking you guns, it's probably the ones at that NRA on contract being paid bUy you the taxpayer.

Think of the taxes you pay to the Gov. and you pay to the Corps to lobby the Gov. to spend more of your tax. Now do you see why we need to forget the 'Let's get them over there 'mentality? I know you don't and you never will.

FL has a Castle Doctrine law doesn't it?
Just go ahead and end him.

Inmate sues man he’s convicted of burglarizing

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — A Florida inmate is suing the man he’s convicted of burglarizing, claiming the man and two others roughed him up during a citizen’s arrest. Michael Dupree is serving a 12-year sentence for burglary and cocaine possession stemming from a 2007 break-in of a van in St. Petersburg. Dupree allegedly stole a bicycle locked inside and was apprehended after the owner, Anthony McKoy, saw him with the bike down the street.

Dupree said McKoy and two others pointed a gun at him, handcuffed him and placed a knee painfully in his back. He’s seeking $500,000 for disabilities and distress suffered during the takedown.

Dupree filed the civil lawsuit on his own, without the help of an attorney.

After being served with the suit, McKoy said, “I thought it was a joke. I’m the victim.”

Ala. grandmother shoots intruder in her bedroom

DECATUR, Ala. – A pistol-packing grandmother in northern Alabama believes intruders will think twice before messing with her again.

Police say 69-year-old Ethel Jones shot an 18-year-old man in the stomach when she found him inside her bedroom at her home in Decatur.

Jones says she sleeps with her gun under a pillow next to her. She says she grabbed it after hearing a door rattle shortly before 3 a.m. Monday.

Police say the suspect removed a window air conditioner to get inside the home. He is in the hospital and faces a charge of second-degree burglary.

80-year old Army vet shoots, kills home invader
http://articles.chicagotribune.com/2010-05-26/news/ct-met-burglar-shot-20100526_1_handguns-account-handgun-violence-unintentional-shooting

The guy broke Chicago's strict anti-gun law but the police refused to prosecute.

"The shooting comes as the U.S. Supreme Court is expected to rule by the end of June on Chicago's decades-old ban on possessing handguns. During oral arguments in March, the court's majority appeared almost certain to strike down the city ordinance and rule that residents have a right to a handgun at home."

Every single police officer I know favors a citizen's right to carry as enumerated in the Constitution.

But leftists know better. Maybe they believe that while the police are busy brutalizing the citizenry, they truly have people's best interests at heart.

But it's difficult to speculate on the thinking of delusional people.

Even after the Supreme Court struck down Chicago's gun ban, the leftists were unfazed:

"During his news conference, Daley said he was miffed at a part of the opinion suggesting Chicago isn't doing enough to address violent crime.

"They don't seem to appreciate the full scope of gun violence in America," he said."

Oh yes we do. And we realize that mass-murders (where four or more people are killed) all occur where guns are banned.

And we realize that Europe has a problem with mass-murder despite extremely restrictive gun control.

And we realize that DC had the nation's highest murder rate despite having the nation's strictest gun control.

Informed people realize a lot of things. Uninformed people often call themselves "liberals."

Obviously the problem with the guy in New York was lack of gun control. If there was gun control, he would have shot something other than the ground.

Someone needs to spend more time at the range.

BIEL, Switzerland – Swiss police say they may have to change tactics in their hunt for a fugitive gunman who shot and seriously wounded one officer in the western city of Biel.

Police commander Francois Gaudy told reporters Friday that officers had tried to avoid bloodshed "but this doctrine has its limits."

Public anger in Switzerland is growing after police failed to apprehend 67-year-old Peter Hans Kneubuhl two days after he barricaded himself at home in a dispute over the house's sale.

After holing up in the house Wednesday, Kneubuhl opened fire at police early Thursday and then successfully fled even as police surrounded the house.

Some 100 police officers including SWAT teams, dog handlers and a helicopter equipped with heat-detecting cameras have been deployed to search for the man.

By definition, banning guns will create more crime because it is a prohibition that will be violated by a black market structure of organized crime. Then the gun market becomes mixed with the drug market and all the other prohibitions, but many will even then still want only the guns legal and the others to remain prohibited.
