Along with looking like a lobster (sunburn), and studding for my SATs this saturday at the track and field league meet. I ran my best time ever, by 10 seconds, of 4 minutes and 49 seconds. I took 7th place, but 1500 meters into the race I was in 4th, meaning that I lost it in the last 100 meters. That was very disapointing to my team, who where going crazy over how fast I was going, yet I look at it in a different light, I see it as, I've never been that fast before so I am just happy with my succes of concuring my own time. It was a great race, the only downside is that I am cooked. I look like a racoon, because I was wearing sunglasses all day except during my race. And to think, I wasn't going to run today because the meet only took the top 3 and I was 4th on our team. I need to thank Mike (2nd fastest miler) for getting food poisioning last night. Inaddition I beat hit personal record by 8 seconds.

Good job tea! Ever see the film Galipoli? Its an old film (one of Mel Gibsons first), anyway the old running coach has a little deal where he gets his student to convince himself he's gonna run as fast as a leopard. Keep up the running.

Yeah - that's a great time - but I bet I can more than double that! Actually I picked up running for a bit - and never did below a 6 minute mile - so I have a frame of reference to tell me that that is a great time.

Great time! Congratulations.

I burn easily. Keep it moisturized for the next 3-4 days or you will itch to death. If you get in real pain, forget everyone around you and put vinegar on your sunburn. Use a washcloth and soak it in vinegar and then use it as a compress.

Record Time
You certainly set the record time in the 'I am leaving' category. Wasn't it like yesterday you said farewell?

Tea, that is a terrific time.

There's something about those league meets...mostly it is the fact that it is at the end of the season so you've had all that training and peparation. My son also ran a PR Saturday in his league meet (10:01 in the 3200) and in fact, he also ran a PR in the league meet last year--4:49 in the mile!

Me, I never broke 5 minutes in the mile, although I did come close...I ran 5:01 in High School.

Are you in 11th or 12th this year?

Another good tip Tea, for the sunburn, take a bath w/ Aveeno. It's collodial oatmeal and it will relieve the itch.
