I'm not admitting defeat yet: the USGS earthquake list latest update time is shown as 10 AM, and the "real time" seismograms don't go any further than 10:35 AM, a couple minutes before I felt maple's belch, er, um, I mean the earthquake-like motion.

OK, now the update time is listed as 10:45 and no 'quake listed for here. Oh, well, false alarm. Sorry!

BowlderMan, they should just hook you up to some electrodes and use you instead of a seismograph.

You're probably a lot cheaper to operate, too!

Earthquakes are neither bad nor good. They just are. It's the fool humans who insist on building on top of faults.

X-Files!
I cannot remember ever having a quake in Knoxville. Not once. Isn't Oak Ridge about 17 miles Southeast of Knoxville? maybe one of Lybia's WMD's went off and they're trying to cover it up.

7.0 quake (more or less) off the coast of Japan about 40 minutes ago. Tsunami warnings say there's no danger except perhaps locally....

No decase this time thankx Gad. Only a pool roof corrapsed on a swimming peopies and the few things falled down. But a scaries it is that quack experts say it is harbinger of the great Miyagi quarck which is occur every 30 old years which can coupled with quarck that occurs every 100 old years (why it always is that recurring devastating quaks period is happen the now?) and which makes the cause of much more damarge.

(CNN) -- A magnitude 6.9 earthquake
"And Waverly Person, a spokesman for the USGS, said scientists expected little damage from the quake.

"It's a major earthquake, but it's quite a ways away from population," Person said.

A tsunami warning was issued for the northeastern Japanese coast; NHK said the quake could produce waves up 30 to 50 cm (12 to 20 inches) above normal.

The quake prompted a tsunami alert for the northwestern coast of the United States as well, though forecasters said only small sea-level changes could be expected."

God punishing gays and pot heads

A 2.9 quake is merely a butt-massage for gays and assists in dizziness to increase the buzz factor for pot heads. Look at this event as God reaching out to gays and druggies.

It was in a newspaper today, but I have not seen it. It was the talk of the bar last night as I watched the basketball game(until half time). Maybe someone hit a big bingo prize.
