jdbgmgr virus hoax warning!
I got a virus warning in my email today about a higly contagious file with a teddy bear icon. The file is jdbgmgr.exe. The instructions said to delete the file. After consulting McAfee, I learned that the warning is a hoax and that the file is important. On occasion, the file can become infected - but its designed to have a teddy bear icon.

I think more viruses are spread by virus alerts than any other format.

I never forward or even open a virus alert. My Sophus software has kept me safe for years.

You could be right on that BacPac. McAfee has done fine for me. I do wish people would take 2 minutes to check things out before forwarding them.

My dad has a terrible habbit of spreading e-mail and virus hoaxes. I think someone really came down hard on him over the last one (just yesterday) and he's finally understanding the point.

I've got a sister that's really bad for forwarding that kind of junk. Some of it multiple times after I've told her it was a hoax. Then she can't figure out why her IT at work bars her from email usage sometimes for months at a time. The world must be a continuing mystery of wonders to her.

I block people that forward a lot of crap. Obviously they need to be restricted to just use the phone or snail mail for communication.
