Father Goose is the name of a great Cary Grant movie. He is an observer on a South Pacific island and has a pension for alcohol. His Navy liason hides it about the island and when he is good, they give him directions to where it is hidden, thus "fifty paces to the palm tree, turn north"

He ends up with a woman and several girls to look after while the Japanese are scouring the area.
